***Official Hawkeyes beat suckeyes thread***

Congrats to the Hawks. All season long they've struggled in the 2nd half but this game they showed they're capable of beating anyone in the Big 10.

We're a tough team. Less talented then last year but we're tougher. Hope that's enough to get us to the dance (We're not a Big 10 title contender, I don't get why I keep hearing that from commentators)

Cuz we are tied for the lead. I do think we can finish top 3 if they can play well in 2nd halves.

Being tied for the conference lead will do that. The next few games will say a lot about this team.

Hawkeyes BEAT the Suckeyes!

And they also beat a subdued crowd at CHA. Do Iowa fans know when to get loud? If the Hawks are up by 12 and the opposing team makes a 3 point shot to cut it to 9, you don't get quiet and sit down. You get off your old white lazy butts and scream louder. Man, so many Iowa fans have no basketball IQ at all.

Great job sweeping The OSU this year. Russell is really good. The rest of the Bucknuts, not so much. They're still a good and dangerous team though.

We don't need the old fogey $$ for basketball anymore. We need to put the students in the good seats to liven up the place.

Uh, welcome to the 1980s. Been the complaint about Carver Hawkeye ever since it was built. But now that Sally Mason is leaving, I would bet the new guy (or gal) will change all that.

So, StanziUSA, was that Aaron White finishing enough for you? Or was that still too many free-throws to be impressive?

I see what you did there. My question is: how are you related to Sally?

They hung on for a comfortable win against a team with a white-hot shooter. I'd say that's growth.

Absolutely correct! I just posted that on another forum. If not for one horrible half, we'd be 5-0 in the B1G. Think about that for a sec. This team is playing winning ball and I don't care what it looks like.

I get that. Very, very good chance we lose the next three (just cause Wisconsin's really good and Purdue is a decent team and that's a road game.) I'm just hoping for the dance still.

Love the fact that OSU cut the lead to 6 with about 3 mins to go and the Hawks weathered the run. This team maybe figuring it out. The last two wins are big for confidence.

Three quick things...watched the game on tv. The floor in Carver comes off incredibly yellow on broadcasts. Could hardly see the Iowa players in the gold uni's. Just wondered if anyone else noticed / thought the same. Second, looooong stretches when the crowd was sitting on it's thumbs again. Why can't we maintain at least SOME of the energy displayed in the first 5 minutes of the game and the last 5 minutes of the game? Think the vendors need to sell Red Bull in the concessions instead of diet cokes. Last, why does every team we play this year have a freeking player who shoots like Kobe Bryant (used to, anyway) from beyond the arc in the second half? One more....GOOD WIN!! Will make Tuesday a bit interesting.

This is probably true. Guess I'm hoping we get to a point pretty soon where we don't give up a run to weather every game.
