This is old news by now, but just so we don't lose faith in Johnny.

Source: 'Coach-2' in federal complaint is Rick Pitino

According to court records, Christian Dawkins, the former agent for ASM Sports who was charged in both parts of the college basketball case, told the cooperating witness, Marty Blazer, that he helped funnel $100,000 to the family of recruit Brian Bowen "at the request of a coach," identified as "Coach-2."

Why FBI Needed To Keep NCAA In The Dark On Its College Basketball Investigation

(When the news broke, Pitino released a statement saying he was "shocked" by the allegations. He really said that, giving pundits no choice but to invoke the famous line from Casablanca about being "shocked, shocked to find gambling" at Rick's Café......

Why have the NCAA's investigators been so ineffective? The NCAA started in 1905 as a simple governing body, designed to ensure athletes were safe, and they were actual students and bona fide amateurs. That's why the NCAA had no problem busting City College of New York for point-shaving in 1951, just one year after winning the national title.

But once the NCAA started making millions, than billions, off its annual basketball tournament, it added to its original role of town sheriff the far more lucrative position of saloon keeper. You can guess how eager the sheriffs were to find violations in their own saloons.....

"We have no tolerance whatsoever for this alleged behavior," he wrote.

That is false on its face. The NCAA has tolerated all this alleged behavior and many others for years. If the NCAA had done anything about it, the FBI wouldn't have had to.)

I can't find it now, but I read an article earlier saying Pitino's lawyer is denying all the charges- says they all just claim "coach-2 may have..." rather than "coach-2 did...".

Now they've hired the assistant, Padgett, to be interim coach.

So Petino was guilty, recruits were gettin' paid, but this assistant clearly wasn't involved in anything??
Maybe if Pearl gets fired, Gatens could get an assistant job there.

Really enjoyed the podcast today from Jon and Deace. Just like someone posted above...the NCAA makes money off the NCAA basketball tournament so its in their best interests to not punish schools like Louisville and North Carolina. Why investigate things that are only going to alienate fans and hurt your bottom line.

I think it's been 11 days since the report of new indictments coming within 2 weeks. If it happens, who do you think Johnny cuffs next?
