*******Official Fant all day makin Debby pay GAME Thread******

Any day you beat Nebraska it’s a good day even though Nebraska sucks. Forty years ago who would have even thought a dynasty program could fall so far? I feel so bad for their fans........................................... NOT!!!!!!!!!!!! ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!! This ain’t the Big 8 your playing in anymore!!!!!!!!

Just noticed Iowa's big ten schedule next year. Yikes...

The only really tough game is at Michigan.

Penn St and purdue at kinnick with young somewhat inexperienced QBs, Purdue with a new coach.

Playing at Nebby doesnt scare the hawks, the hawks should be 4-0 or 3-1 to start the season

jNW adn at Wisky , will be tough but both teams will have new QBs, just a matter if KF can keep from getting out coached by Fitz and calling some plays down the field

Wisky is always tough but the hawks will be experienced

If we win our bowl game then optimism wins the day, if we don't I'm gonna feel like zero improvement this season. ONE THING WE HAVE TO FIX IS LETTING OPPONENTS ON 4TH AND LONG DEEP IN THEIR OWN TERRITORY GET A FIRST DOWN.
Biels - 2010
Frost - 2018

when are we gonna learn??????????????????

Yep punt blocks are great down by their goal line but a low % so better in that situation with a 15 pt lead to block well and field the punt at midfield or better then drive it in for the td, just contain the edge and the gaps.

Ummm, Stanley was experienced, this year:eek: AND he’s likely to lose his best (albeit, mostly underutilized) receivers. BIG diff between “experience” and experience that isn’t very good.

All of which makes it even crazier that he is on pace to break Chuck Long's school record of 74 career TD's.

He is now at 49 and counting. And he won't get the benefit of a fourth year. He will have to do it in three.

He's a game manager. That gets you 8 wins when you have 2 early-round NFL picks at TE and Phil Parker in charge of the defense.
Next year we will have Manziel/Petras/Padilla. One of those 3 are better, maybe 2. Of course they won't have a union card and I fear Nate's fate with be the same as all the other multiyear starters. If Brian is really a breath of fresh air he will make Stanley second team. Or maybe give him the Fant treatment and make him a third team specialist.

That had a lot to do with your tattoo

Had a Nebraska couple sitting behind and to the left of us at the game. They stayed pretty quiet for the entire game.

Was at work most of the game got off just in time to see Nebby tie it up, can only imagine how pissed and pessimistic I would have been if I had seen them blow the game. Frost kinda took a swipe at Kirk after by saying he was shocked Iowa went for it instead of going up 3 scores. I was too. Turned the whole game around on that call and on another fake field goal deep in their own territory. Talk about taking a page from the Wisconsin playbook.

Wish we had another 3 points going into the end of the game. Might have eased Stanley's yips at the end of the game, although he did hit a clutch pass late for getting near field goal range.

We have to win at least one game against a quality football program to save face. If we lose our bowl game and end up 8-5 then it’s just another Kirk typical season. We really need to play a quality team and beat them. At least that gives some hope going to the next season.

8-5 Meh, and everyone knows it. Looking at all those fans who show up in the rain and cold to watch 8-5 football every year does not reflect well on the intelligence of a fan base. It’s got the rot and smell of a fan base just about one hundred miles west of Iowa City. There’s a fine line between loyalty and stupidity. Say all you want about the last fifteen years at Nebraska, Norte Dame and even Michigan about the coaching turnover but at least they are trying and the fan base at each of those program have expectations. WTF do we have?

They really, really, need a quality bowl game win, or we as football fans start looking like a bunch of Iowa State fans who rationalize and justify not ever winning the B1G games.
