***OFFICIAL 2013 MASTERS THREAD***

Tiger doesn't get DQ'd but is assessed a 2 stroke penalty, now at 1 under par for the tournament and 5 strokes back from the leader.

Ha..apparently Tiger did himself in. The rules committee thought the drop was within the rules when they reviewed it while TW was on the 18th yesterday. But after Tiger's post round TV interview, they went back and reviewed it again and decided it was against the rules.

I posted earlier that I think Kucher.

And I agree, anybody but tiger , especially now after the 2 stoke penalty, Tiger should withdraw because he knowingly skirted the rules

Knowingly ? Really ? And then he decided to tell everybody on purpose. OK

I understand why people hate him...but this is dumb to think he should DQ himself.

Tiger knows the rules. He looked at the drop area and declined, he looked at another area to drop back by the trees which I think was on the line of flight as the ball went into the water, so he goes back to the spot he hit the original shot. Notice the wording , the spot nearest the original shot, not two yards farther back or on a more level or better area near the original shot.

I am sure CBS and Jim Nantz went to tiger this morning and said "pretty please dont withdraw or DQ yourself".

I think Freddy vs Jason is a great story line today.

And can dufner finally break thru

2 shot penalty assessed. Matter closed.

OK, who is going to win it or who do you want to see win it. Below are all within 5 strokes of the lead. I am pulling for Snedeker or Kuchar as americans and they would be first time winners. I like to see the guy win his first major or first green jacket. In reality Angel Cabrera will be extremely hard to beat I think.

When Angel is in the hunt he can close, he is putting great (only one three putt all week late yesterday). There are a lot of potential first time winners. Who can really go low in this group? The best putters are the ones who can go low, Stricker (probably not as I really like him as person and player but hasnt done it at big events), Cabrera and Snedeker can both putt and are leading. Tiger's could do it if he can get the putter going which is saying a lot, he seems to be putting with the ball dying at the hole the last few years which is costing him).

Sentimental favorite would be little guy Tim Clark, started off rough I think but would be great to see him go low, which he did yesterday. And there is supposed to be rain.

I will be trying to watch golf as I write up some notes and do other chores. I will lend my expertise from 55 years of golfing to my posts (as I know you are all looking forward to that).

Only if your handicap is currently less than 8.

ha, my handicap is variable and I dont really keep one as I only play about 10 times a year. If my tempo is good and my swing is in the right slot I can still score low 70s, if I am off I can go mid-80s or worse. I hit buckets on the range and putt and chip on practice green more than I play.

Great to see arnie, player, and nicklaus tee it up at the masters.
