Offensive numbers

I liked what Brian did on Saturday. They honestly looked like they were a complete college football team.

I'm a little surprised that Iowa is unranked right now.

Beat Indiana, and I think they may jump a few spots close to 20. Like Hawkeye fans, i think the voters are still waiting to see what's what. Big game this week against a solid Indiana squad. I think this game gives us a look at how we can expect to look against 3 of the next 4. Its on the road and a huge one for confidence

Iowa doesn't really have a signature win that vaults teams up the AP poll. Not a big deal we are to the time of year where just having a 5-1 record is going to be enough to get into the top 25, as most other P5 teams will have 2 loss at this point. Take care of business vs Indiana and we will be in the top 25

Here is the key stat, Iowa has had one big, watershed game, Kirk pissed it down his leg again.

You really put that game on KF and the coaching staff? Maybe a couple questionable play calls in the red zone, yeah, in hindsight.

Past games? Sure. Bowl performances = readiness and game plans in 4 of the past 5-6 years? Absolutely. Wisc '10 when they took our soul...yep.

But not wisc '18...nope.

To me it's amazing that Iowa has the 3rd hardest schedule in the B1G. Look at Rutgers. A team that has Wisconsin, Penn State, Michigan, Michigan State and they can't even get past Illinois.

And this is one of the easier schedules Iowa has had. There's no Michigan or Ohio State. Yes there's Penn State on the schedule and Maryland. Maryland is no pushover but it's at home.

The schedule is played so far - not overall schedule. Other teams are going to rise above Iowa. I was just making the point that it's not like they've played the sisters of the poor so far. It's been decent, not great. Top 25. It will likely end up just outside of that.

Overall SOS is 23rd, top SOS in conference metrics put us 4th in conference in yppd, 5th in country scoring defense and only loss is to a top 15 team. They should be top 25. Beat Indiana and maybe they'll eek in.

Schedule looks tougher now than it did three weeks ago before the Wisconsin game. The Maryland and NW games scare me. I think Indiana will be a big win, injuries notwithstanding. Our frosh corners grew up a lot in Minny. But Maryland can stretch the edge where we are weak at LB with Nieman out. NW always plays Iowa like it's the superbowl.

Conference wise, I think Wisconsin loses to PSU and Mich. Armani Jones and Eppy might be able to contain McSorely. I think that will be a close one.
