Off topic: OU fires Mike Stoops after Red River debacle

We say Go Hawks and Go Pokes in our house, my wife went to Oklahoma State. This isn’t a good thing for the Big 12. OU has the resources and talent to get a good, young defensive coordinator. OU could really upgrade here, their defense has been awful for quite a while. I have to say, I do admire a program who can identify a true weak link and have the courage to make a change, even mid season. Won’t make a difference this year, for them, but could even as early as next year.

According to Bob Diaco's wikipedia page, he's the new DC.
On one hand, I'd like to see Oklahoma suck. On the other hand, I'd like to see Diaco do really well so we have a whole new "Nebraska sucks the life out of anyone who goes there" narrative to delve into.

Honestly I'm surprised it took this long. OU fans have been calling for his head for a long time.

That’s not a narrative. I bet Diaco, if it is in fact Diaco, does well at Oklahoma at least by Big 12 standards.

How do you become one of the people that has editing power on Wiki?
Not really sure. I think anyone can do it, but can get banned from doing it. Certain pages can not be edited, though. I went back and looked and he's no longer listed as the DC.

Nebby may be eyeing him now. They'd love to have a DC who only gave up 48 points on his worst day. The fusker D has given up an average of 43.7 points in their current 9 game losing streak.

I can see the way Bob Stoops suddenly retired in June 2017, that Lincoln Riley had no choice but to keep Mike Stoops in 2017.

But it is suprising that Riley did not clean house after the 2017 season and bring in his own staff before the 2018 season.

You can't win the Kentucky Derby on a mule.

Why would they do this? Isn't against Big 12 bylaws to play defense?

And as I mentioned to my son a few years ago, if ISU can get any kind of a good defense they can make waves in the Big 12 and that is what Campbell has done. He beat two ranked Big 12 teams last year and one so far this year.
