Off topic but someone explain Texas

Keep in mind that with Luck, Tannehill, RGIII, Manziel, and Crabtree, Mack's offensive coordinator--who was also a major player in the decision not to recruit those guys on offense--was Greg Davis.

I do not need to say anything more to this board other than the bolded.

Wowza, I didn't know this. Not surprising with Macks history though. Good gawd just think of what a competent coach could have done there within the last decade.

There are a lot of Baylor fans have read some things that Art Briles said--that he loves coaching at a university on I-35 in Texas--and thought that he might just be the successor of Mack Brown at Texas. If that ever happens, the Big XII will be some serious trouble.

No doubt about it. If Art Briles who can do what he has at Baylor which is basically ISU of the south, he will own the Big 12.

Who wants injury prone/head cases like that?

Yea they have some major problems going on down there. With the recruits they bring in you would think they would be competing for the championship every year

It's amazing Mack is hanging on, but at least he did win that one natty. Lane Kiffin is more inexplicable. I cannot tell you the joy I felt watching the last quarter of that game last night, with WSU sealing the deal. I've always liked crazy pirate Mike Leach for some reason, and Kiffin is just an unmitigated doosh:

I've gone over to one of the UT boards and offered them a trade of Kirk for Mack but nobody is biting. I've even offered to throw in an OC.

Oh, just to give you an idea of what some of the facilities look like in the suburbs. Here's the gallery for Lake Travis, who just became a 5A school a couple years ago. Lake Travis High School Athletic Facilities It's nice to live in the suburbs because the Austin schools don't have facilities anywhere near that nice, although the AISD stadiums aren't bad.

How do you know? That's like saying, the only reason Colt McCoy and Vince Young failed in the NFL is because they lacked Greg Davis' leadership.

Or Highland Park in Dallas. Even in the 80's they had nicer facilities than some D1 schools:

HPISD > Departments > Athletics > Athletic Facilities

Current AD's name is "Johnny Ringo" so you know they're good.

That looks like an outhouse compared to Allen ISD stadium or the Berry Center for CyFair ISD

That Greg Davis made the decision not to recruit all of those players.

I mean, I don't know it in terms of having irrefutable facts to back up my assertion, but from what I know about most D1 school's recruiting structures, the OC has a lot of say in which players do or don't get offered to play offense. For most schools, it is ultimately the head coach who chooses to offer a player and decides the position, but position coaches and coordinators are consulted pretty extensively.
