Odds to Win the Big10

I thought Wisconsin had quite a few holes to fill? Not sure about all the luv they're getting. But, Wisky is one of those teams that always seems to be solid and doesn't seem to suffer the lows on occasion which is quite strange. They seem to plug-n-play pretty well for some reason, basketball too.

Wisconsin's conference schedule is weak as shit this year. Their toughest game is home vs Michigan. Their next toughest game? I don't even know...@Nebraska or home against Iowa or NW?

Ah yea, I didn't even look at their schedule which would change expectations dramatically.

Yeah my buddy is a huge Badger fan and won't shut up about how good they're going to be this year and how easy their schedule is.

It was fun going with him to the last game in Madison. Awful game with a great result, for me.

Northwestern should be higher than us but other than that it looks legit.

I'm not saying you're wrong and I think Northwestern is better than Iowa this season more than likely - and at least perception wise heading in, they are no doubt.....but Northwestern hasn't even won their own division once since The B1G went to divisions and hasn't had even a share of the conference title in 17 years. That probably helped weigh a lil on their odds.

The boys in Vegas are usually spot on...until there's an injury.
IMO PSU has the best shot at winning the B1G title, then of course OSU a close 2nd.
But ponder this hypothetical :
What if either McSorley or JT Barrett goes down with a season-ending injury??
What would those odds look like then?
I'm just saying anything can and often does happen.

I think if they lost Barkley their season would be over.

They're the real deal now and getting better all the time. Which I'm fine with, I hate all the whining about how the West sucks so bad. As long as it's not Nebraska, I'll take anybody getting tougher just for the sake of better football. The Huskers can sit in their dirty diapers permanently for all I care.

I just meant, maybe win your own division once and they *might* get better odds from Vegas on winning the B1G. They have a hell of a program since Fitz has been there and they definitely have had Iowa's # more times then I would want, but he's never won a division let alone the conference and Ferentz has proven he can do both. Hence - same or better odds even with NW considered to be the 2nd favorite in the division by many. I agree 100% with you on Nebraska tho - I hope the rest of the division keeps their foot on their necks and never lets up. Turn them into ISU for all I care :)

I would put Penn State at the top. They have an offense and a defense. Ohio State and Michigan are still struggling to get there.

Honestly, I see no reason why we can't win the West and play in Indy again. Albeit we may have two+ losses (cross over games) and even winning the B1G champ game won't get us into the playoffs, but it would be fun to play PSU again.

To win the West Iowa needs to beat Wisconsin. Unless Wisconsin loses their cross over games, Michigan and Maryland. It's going to be very tough for Iowa to win the West.

Iowa gets Ohio State at home. Wisconsin on the road.

Before the Penn State game I was having a lot of doubts about he defense and the future of this team. Now it appears some doubts may stem around the offense. Not really the players as much as the play calling.

If Wisconsin's schedule wasn't so weak I actually think Iowa could beat Wisconsin and win their division. That 9-3 prediction isn't looking so foolish today. Brain has got to learn to exploit the opponents weaknesses and quite slaming his head against a brick wall (running against 7 or 8 in he box). Penn States weakness on defense is clearly it's pass defense. If Brian can shake loose from the shackles of his fathers mindset then he might find himself being much more successful as an offensive coordinator.

A great head coach once said you need to scratch where it itches. If Brian can learn to do that his potential as an offensive coordinator will be unlimited. Penn State's pass defense was really itching Saturday but Brian instead chose to keep running into a brick wall.

The two main games to worry about are Ohio State and Wisconsin. North Western may also be a problem. After Penn State the West looks a achievable for Iowa. It all depends what Iowa takes from this game. Everything I have heard from the team up to this point has been positive.......

It's genetic.

I don't think PSU will win the conference. Iowa dang near beat PSU.

Iowa had a green OC and green QB - neither had never been in that situation before.

Iowa isn't the best D they will face and Iowa isn't the most athletic D they will face.

Imagine a mature OC and QB facing PSU's defense? Yes PSU will lose to UM and OSU and It won't be as close as the Iowa game.

Those losses will take the shine off of this amazing game
