Odds Against Indiana

This is bunk. I hate when people say that.

Below are all games off byes in the Ferentz era...

Ferentz is 10-12 coming off byes since 1999. 4 of those losses are against Ohio State which are games the Hawks will NEVER be favored in, whatsoever. So as far as that goes, you can throw those out of your argument because they're L's no matter what time of the season they happen. Two of those losses are against ranked Penn State teams, which, bye or not, Iowa would not be favored in. I also have a helluva hard time holding 1999 and 2000 against him because he was a brand new coach in a program that was floundering. What did you expect to happen those 2 years? Be honest.

Iowa has also beaten OSU and Penn State once each coming off a bye.

So...if you're going to say that Ferentz has definitively sucked historically coming off a bye, you're going to have to provide some evidence among context as to why.

It's just one of those easy blanket statements that one can state to try to sound like making or point and with the chance to shit on a coach.

Also, do you remember what was different about that game? Iowa—a team that doesn’t blitz—brought the house on repeat that game and took Urbs completely off guard.

Phil if you’re reading this (and I’m sure you are), write that down.
That game felt to me like the coaches knew going into the game they had a very slim chance to pull off a win so pretty much said "F it". They went off script and let Stanley throw all over and early in downs. They called the fake FG, etc. etc. It seems like they just said "What the hell!" and let the guys play.

Once the guys hung with Ohio St. and scored a few times and started to have fun, they seemed to really gel and played so well together. It was a synergistic effect on the team.

So how we feeling about this game? I feel like it could go one of 3 ways.

1. Iowa plays inspired ball keeps it a ball game and pulls it out at the end.
2. Iowa plays frustrating game yet keeps it within striking distance till the 4th q and loses a what if/heart breaker
3. We get boat raced and Indiana just keeps on keeping on.

I don't have a good feeling to be honest. It seems like Indiana would have to really mess up to keep us in it and that's a tough thing to predict. But that said crazier things have happened.

Gron is a running threat

Problem for most teams, cover the receivers and give Gron the ability to run for first downs

No necessarily expecting a win but am expecting a solid game with the rabid Hawkeye fans in
the stands at Kinnick

GO HAWKS
They might be wise if they don't cover Iowa's receivers.
