O/U Points/Rebounds for Basabe tonight?

I hope you are right, but I think his issues originate between his ears more than around his waist. Apparently he has dropped 10 of the 20 pounds he put on, so hopefully he can move beyond this mentally. He is thinking way too much vs. reacting, which is easy to do when you struggle and press. I would like him to see him focus on rebounding and D, as I think he can get a few put backs etc., to get his confidence going. Hopefully Brommer can get more PT and stay out of foul trouble to help Basabe out down low.

Basabe 8 points, 5 boards- Clemson too athletic for us- Clemson 84, Iowa 70

I think this is Basabe's coming out party, he's smaller weight-wise than the guys he's going to be going up against. I like him in the matchup. Cartwright will get back on track tonight too.

There will be more eyes watching tonight, which seems to be when basabe shines the most. It looks like he is just trying to go through the motions when you watch him play. He just needs a couple baskets in a short amount of time to heat him up, then there is no stopping him. Tonight will be better then most of his this season, but not quite what people want. 8 points and 8 boards. Look for him to have a monster game after this one if this happens.

Honestly his key is not getting a stupid couple fouls early. If I am Clemson I give it to my post players early to see if Basabe commits a dumb foul due to poor defense or some stupid over the back foul.

Basabe tends to pick up some really dumb fouls which puts him on the bench early and does not allow him to get in any type of flow.

Well considering that Clemson's strength is their interior play I am going to guess that this isn't the game where he figures it all out. I am really worried that Brommer/Basabe get exposed by the quicker more athletic Clemson bigs tonight. I think he has figured out that you can't just turn things on whenever he feels like it.

I do see the press being effective tonight though. Their guards have struggled this season and Young is only 5'9 which should help with the trapping situations.

2 points and 1 board. HawkForce is the winner

Wow, he just isnt very good for whatever reason

I missed on the boards, but...wow. I never thought they would be this bad....like for real how do they regress so much!! I know Cole is gone...but just individual players look AWFUL compared to last year....very puzzling.
