Nunge is gone transfering

Does anyone think that Ogundele will play much if at all next year. JMO he seems very, very raw and needs a lot of weight training and everything that goes along with that. Fran found him and must think highly of him so there is that. I agree that another big must be found in the portal.

I sure did not see this coming and I am really disappointed. At the same time, Jack is a great kid, will always be a Hawkeye, gave his all to his team mates and coaches. I truly hope he finds a good fit and is happy. In the meantime, his departure will be a major problem next season. It may change the whole personality of the team. This loss is huge.

Josh can certainly give 10-15 minutes if not more. The Murrays with Patrick, although light for playing the 4 and 5, would be matchup nightmares for the opponents with their athleticism and ability to get up and down the floor.

Ideally we can bring in a transfer big to help, but it would be exciting to see them try this as well.

Sorry, but I didnt see enough from Josh the very few minutes he was on the floor to encourage me in thinking he would be ready to contribute next year. I hope I am wrong. I know Fran had to see something in him.

Well Fran saw Josh everyday in practice and didn't see anything warranting bringing him in other than end of blowout. Maybe he is like Kirk playing qb thru entire year and not giving backup any playing time.

I would have liked for him to play more just to get experience for next year, but he did have a pretty good guy ahead of him.

Really liked Jack's game but man he had a tough year. Best of luck young warrior, hope you find your place. Great Hawkeye, great man.

The real question is, is this the start of a stampede, or just a isolated incident. But this one was a shocker.

Stepping away from basketball altogether I thought was a real possibility, but him transferring never crossed my mind.
I can honestly say that in my gut I’ve expected this since his dad passed. I understand and will definitely cheer for the guy.

I’m not calling you out because others have mentioned losing players. Where are they going to go? I think they have great potential. But I don’t see any of the young guys going anywhere but a mid major...before even getting a chance to prove they belong. And playing time won’t be an issue. We played 9 this year.

Side Note - There’s no chance Keegan, Kris, Connor or Patrick are going anywhere IMO.

Normally for a player like Nunge especially considering how important his role would have been on next years team I would have been really ticked about this. But my heart goes out to Nunge and I wish him all the best. No young man should have to go through everything he's gone through. Some team close to his home is going to get one hell of a player.

makes sense.. plus even though he is a quality player... he is just one injury after another. I'm not sure he could hold up in a big ten season down the road.

The kid drew the shortest of short straws this year. I mean we should've expected it and been surprised if he stayed. This makes a lot of sense. I really hope he finds a good fit close to home (besides Indiana preferably) so he can be with his family more. To go through all that with the pandemic and everything else is just ridiculous. Life sure isn't fair.

It does suck from the roster angle of things because he was going to be leaned on heavily next yr. And plus I think the guy was just coming into his own he's still going to be a hell of a player. But he gets zero grief for making this decision. None at all. Myself at his age woulda curled up in a ball and went home way before now. He's a tough loyal guy that stuck out the year and thought about this long and hard before deciding. Wish him nothing but the best.

I hope we can have a home game next yr against whomever he's playing for so CHA can give him a standing O.
