Nunge is gone transfering

Doubt that’s the real reason . It’s called nepotism
This is your second post with this garbage.

All anybody has to do is take a 30 second look at your post history and they'll see you're nothing but a troll who hates the Hawkeyes. Which...whatever. Plenty of you guys around...

But questioning Nunge's integrity, a kid who just lost his dad and couldn't be with family, and blew two knees for this team, who is universally loved by fans, coaches, and teammates ain't gonna get you very far.

What you're doing is basically saying his statement is bullshit and that he's lying. Convince me why you should keep posting here.

So when JBo comes back and Uhlis hits the transfer portal because of it what do you expect him to say ? 90 percent of the transfers say they want to be closer to home . Stop being so naive.

I dunno. Is Blacksburg, Virginia closer to Iowa City than Dubuque?
Is Lawrence, Kansas closer to Iowa City than Chicago?
Is Grand Forks, North Dakota closer to Iowa City than Waterloo?

90 percent of transfers leave because the coach leaves or they want more playing time or they were recruited over. It has little to do with distance from home.

My point exactly . They came to Iowa city in the first place . Guaranteed Nunge was pissed about playing time .

Agreed. Bruce Pearl got rebuffed by Iowa when we hung onto Lick too long and all of the sudden Tyler Smith needed to be closer to home. This dude is going to Indiana. That new coach looked up and down the rosters and recruiting classes and said to himself "I cannot be last in the conference in my first year" and wants to take a shot across our bow. I don't blame him. And if Nunge goes to Indiana, more power to him. The guy is a solid Big Ten player and Indiana is a stellar college basketball program (though somewhat plagued by Nebraska-itis) of late.

But it’s ok that Fryowa can be critical of posters but heaven forbid if you disagree with his opinion or criticize the program or players . What a fucking joke. His hypocrisy knows no bounds.

Fry could care less if you disagree with his opinion. And you, myself, and everyone else have the right to criticize where warranted.

But you were criticizing Nunge's integrity, claiming you knew the real reason he left, doubting the explanation he gave.

And you have a long and detailed history of only posting after losses. Why do never enlighten us with your thoughts when we win or when thing go well.

Just asking a legit question.

It’s got no goddamn thing to do with whether you agree with me.

You’re calling Nunge a liar.

And you do absolutely zero on this forum other than bitch about the Hawkeyes. Go find some other site.

He is leaving for all the right reasons. Best of luck Jack, embrace your family.
This is the the best reason for the portal being available for student-athletes going through rough times. It just gets watered down with all the players chasing playing time.

If Nunge does end up in Indiana after another grueling year of rehab. that's what he will deserve. Nothing will take away from me the fine play he contributed to Iowa the last two years. Good luck in the future young man.

I guarantee that Nunge and the other players handle disappointment, heartbreak, and being upset about playing time a lot better than some grown adults who post on these boards handle losses.

Don't know if you've ever lost a parent during a pandemic and suffered another injury on top of it but judging from most of your posts I have a pretty good idea how you would handle it.

Playing time??? Nunge was projected to be the starting center next season. I can guarantee playing time was not the reason why Nunge is transferring. He had a huge role this past season and an even bigger role for next season.

I wish him all the best, but I'm not sure how I feel his departure will affect the team. (1) He's bouncing back from a second major surgery, how do we even know he'd even return anywhere near the player he was and (2) he's spent probably as much time out with injuries as he has playing/practicing since he's been here.

Nothing against the guy, as he sincerely seems like a great guy that's gone through way to much in such a short time frame, but we've had such little time where he's actually been able to contribute its hard for me to say the team is at a major loss losing him to the transfer portal.

Sounds like he's going to Xavier. Which is about 3 hours from where he grew up. Makes sense. They were in the middle of the pack last yr. Hope it's a good fit for him. They have a new fan right here anyway. Hope we can play them at our place.
