Now That The Vast Majority

All "tolled," you're just dead wrong.

And you know it, and it makes you bitter.

Yes, "tolled.". As in added up... total number. Can also be expressed as "all told"

There is no evidence that I'm the least bit wrong. Your ego makes you
believe you represent the majority when, in fact, you're nothing more than
an anonymous poster on an internet forum. You have no special insight
or knowledge of anything that matters to the success or failure of this team.

My daddy always tolled me that you can't fix stupid, and dang if you didn't just go and prove him right.

Here's the deal, sparky... when you say "the vast majority of ya'll" you're actually talking about a handful
of anonymous goofballs on an internet forum. All tolled, you guys wouldn't make a decent line at the concession
stand during halftime at Kinnick on game day. I doubt the vast majority of all Hawk fans agree with you.

Your opinion lacks logic.

What, in your mind, would differentiate the people on these websites from the fan base as a whole?

This is a fairly random cross section of the fan base with the one common denominator being those who go online tend to be more passionate and invested.

Its simply logical to assume the internet is fairly representative of the overall opinion of the whole. For instance there used to be a roughly 50/50 split regarding KF, now it's more like 90/10.

Very few people are happy with Ferentz anymore.

I'm in favor of a coaching change but I've seen nothing to indicate Barta or Mason would pull the trigger. Don't they work for KF?

You guys are funny. You have no rebuttal so you feign superiority. It's like you're still in high school...

RocknRollface just gave you your rebuttal. I don't see why posting on a message board and being negative would go hand in hand. In my experience from talking to friends, coworkers, customers, and random people with hawk gear on, the percentages of people who love Kirk and the people who don't are the same as they are on the message boards. In fact I don't remember the last time I've talked in person to someone who was confident that Kirk is still the right man for the job.

Nobody in their right mind could watch that game on Saturday and think, boy Iowa is really well coached.

I really get frustrated with KF's decisions on the field and his personnel decisions. But the truth is, if he was bought out and we tried to bring some other coach in we'd have a 10-15% of bringing someone in better than him. We could turn into Purdue pretty quickly without KF.

You must be out of your mind if you think that only a small majority of people simply housed in this forum are ready for Kirk to be gone.

I guess Forbes writes articles about good coaches needing bought out...
http://www.forbes.com/sites/chrissmith/2014/09/16/can-iowa-afford-to-fire-kirk-ferentz/

How many good coaches have hash-tags on Twitter dedicated to them being fired with thousands of responses.

If you would pull your head out of the sand you would understand that there a rapidly rising number of fans are tired of Kirk and are ready for him to be gone.

I am on the curt boat, but after isu I am neutral and wouldn't be upset if we lost him. Sadly, we are almost purdont now. Very close

I don't like this mentality. I understand it, but we can't hold onto a coach because we are afraid we can't do any better. That's just saying we are ok with with being mediocre. And that where the program is right now, mediocre. We had a great run 10 years ago. KF has been rewarded for that. Now we get excited about an 8-4 season with a weak schedule. Iowa has been and can be better than that.
Yes, we could make a bad hire. But we could make a great one too.

close, but no cigar.

You've failed to apply the tried and true, blinddogscooter theorum, in your game analysis. Had you done so, you would see that this was a perfectly executed game plan w/ the right personel and that you just aren't a "true hawk".

I've reviewed K.F.'s tenure applying "blinddog" logic to all our our successes and "preceived" failures. K.F. ends up being the best coach that has ever lived and so many fans were found to be less than "true hawks" w/ huge egomaniacal concerns.

Now that the light has dawned the on the "blinddog theorem" we can all just settle down and hope for 4-8 seasons of perfection as our IA State brotheren have long since discovered to be the equation to happyness.

Before I read the last paragraph I thought to myself, "this sounds like something an ISU fan would say".

TRUTH! I'm amazed at how many around these parts have stood up, dusted off their knees, pulled up their trousers and shouted, "I'm not going to take this weekly double-team from KirkFer and that G.d G.D., anymore!"

It's awesome that so many are finally becoming enlightened out of their myopic, Pollyanna state. Maybe the $ound will get loud enough to, finally, promote the long overdue change. I just wish you all would have gotten past your "Stockholm syndrome" much sooner, like, sometime since 2008 -- which was when I woke up after he blatantly forfeited a game due to his personnel mismanagement, err, misguided "gut feeling".

Thanks to you I've endured jaw-dropping blunders, schematic / strategic limitations, and inexplicable, inexcusable losses, every season since. So, while I'm happy for your recovery, I selfishly hate you all for taking so long to get this revolution started.

It's like a cruel joke to have a coach that is so good at fielding competitive teams and have to watch him pee them down his leg because he such a bad gameday coach.

You have quite an imagination. You start by telling me my opinion lacks
logic then go on for four paragraphs of pure speculation citing the occasional
"I talked with some people" anecdotal evidence which, of course, you can't
even prove.

The first piece of logic is this... the vast majority of Hawk fans aren't so immature
and emotionally unstable that they feel need to rant publicly, yet anonymously, about
the doings of college kids.

The ones who are concerned aren't so arrogant as to think they know every little
detail and nuance of how things actually work in big time college athletics.

I come here because you guys are so amusing....

Now hit that thumbs down and pretend to be smart!

I've posted this before.

"In other words, it would sting, especially in that first year, but Iowa appears able to afford firing Ferentz if it’s finally ready to start rebuilding its program. And considering that Iowa football has experienced consistent revenue growth (up about 10% annually over the last five years), has an increasingly valuable conference home and is currently among some struggling competition, there may not be a better time for a fresh start."
