Of y'all agree with me that Kurt sabotages his own program with face palm personnel decisions, I ask:

How much more of this insanity is required before Big Money figures out that Le Emperor is buck stark nekkid and force Sally and Gar Bear to pull the pin?

There won't be any "forcing" happening....only happens if the Big Money guys can come up with about $15M to buy KF out...

Iowa should have never ever dug such a deep whole. We can't buy Ferentz out and have enough left over to get a good coach...we'd have to take a flyer on a MAC guy.

I am at the point that I do not care what it costs.... Get it done and let's move on.

There is no sense of urgency or care for anyone but himself. He's lazy and has a massive inner ego. The fans are stupid to him. He would rather lose to make some kind of point about who's in charge than to do something for the good of the fan base. Just very ungrateful person. Acts like he's doing us a favor by hanging around drawing millions upon millions.

Not sure I really want Sally and GarBar to have the responsibility of "pulling the pin". They'd drop the grenade and we all get fragged. We're in a lose-lose situation here. Ferentz needs to be gone, but the other two need to be out of here first, cuz they will F up the next hire.

He's not ungrateful at all, but I think he does seem very complacent.

I'm not prone to over reacting, and certainly this game is one I have felt we were going to lose for a long time now (both before the season and this week). Yet this loss really pizzes me off. We had absolutely no answer for Maryland's gameplan. If it weren't for a great play by Ott, and a blown coverage by Maryland (Bullocks big catch and run) to start the game, this game is blowout city. I am tired of seeing a team that has the talent to win game get out coached, but more so out schemed. This style of offensive football has been a complete and total fail for 3 years now. Trying to meld KF outdate zone blocking stretch play offense with GD horizontal quick hitting passing game was stupid from the start, and is stupid 3 years later.

Nothing is going to change though. The only hope of change this program has is that GD is gone at the end of the year, and Brain takes over at OC. I think Brian is the only OC in the country that KF will actually give the freedom to actually run something different than Capt. Kirk stale offenses.

You wait and see how the rest of the year plays out. Had this as a loss before the year, picked it as a loss this week, but the how they lost was concerning.

That said, all five games remaining are winnable...but Iowa is also capable of losing them all. IF they go 5-0 or 4-1, then this stuff is moot. If they go 7-5 or worse this year, that's a huge fail...8-4 is going to feel hollow, too, given the schedule...but I want to see it play out.

As for raising money for the buyout, just don't see anything like that happening this year.

Barta definitely needs to go with him. #directorscup. ;)

What gives you confidence that BF would be an effective OC? He has never had the duty of calling plays or designing offense. He has learned from his dad his whole life. The OL that was supposed to be the best in the conference has been slightly above terrible.

I agree that he would be better than Davis, but that bar isn't set low, it actually just fell to the ground.

Maybe I am mistaken, but Iowa's O-line under Brian Ferentz has not been spectacular. It has struggled to remain average or slightly above (2013). This year it has been a complete disappointment, and in 2012 the lack of depth killed us after we lost 2 starters in the Penn State game.

I've heard that BF is the most intense assistant coach in the BIG, but that isn't translating into having the most dominant position group. Is he a great recruiter? I have no idea. I'm just not able to put any hope into the concept that BF would be able to usher in a new system and be successful running it. He hasn't yet done it in his current position.

I would prefer we fire Barta and get a strong AD in place who will actually be Kirk's boss. Maybe if he knows he could be fired something will change. I'd sit him down and say win a big ten title next year or you're gone.

This is what needs to happen first. BArta needs to be held accountable for KFs golden parachute of a contract. I don't trust that he would make a good FB hire anyway. I think it was a conspiracy to get Skorton out of here. That guy was and would have been great for Iowa. But the regents conspired to get rid of him. We get stuck with the Sally Masons of the world.

Good point. I know it's difficult to tease out why things are terrible, the O line is a massive disappointment...probably my biggest disappointment this year. The line is Brian's responsibility.

What if I kick in $25...that gets us something doesn't it?!?!?
