NOT LOOKING LIKE A PLAYOFF TEAM TODAY

That's Nick. Ya can't really respect anything he posts cuz there is no attempt at objectivity. Iowa had 4 turnovers to 1 and we only win by 2 scores. 293 total offensive yards to 241 is NOT dominating. When you're playing arguably the worst team in the Big Ten and have a 3 turnover advantage you should be crushing them.

Maybe if our QB was 100% we would of crushed them but he wasn't and we still handled them pretty darn well.

The B12's four ranked teams have a combined zero top 25 wins and one loss to a team that ISU is ten minutes from shutting out. Frauds.

I saw you post the same thing in the MN thread. Is there any winning team you don't see as a fraud right now?

Just keep winning. At 8-0 I won't be one to complain. Nor will I at 9-0, or 10-0,or 11-0, or 12-0. If they keep winning the rest should take care of itself. No reason to discuss hypothetical scenarios at this point.

Well you just put forward the hypothetical that we will be 9-0 . . . 10-0 . . . .11-0 . . . 12-0. So apparently you don't mind hypotheticals as long as they echo your parochial views. BTW, I AM open minded enuf to discuss your hypothetical. That's what makes these boards fun.

Why all of the speculation? We are not a dominant team but we are 8-0! Not one single poster on this site thought we'd be 8-0 and discussing Iowa in the playoffs! We don't have to dominate. We just have to keep winning. Even if we end up losing a game or 2, who cares? It wasn't unexpected. Enjoy it.

Let's also not forget we're still missing our top RB and one of our top lineman. I like Wadley, but Canzeri brings a different element. He's a much more complete player and we'll benefit when he comes back.

Nope. As I've said before everyone in college football sucks. Who do you think is good? Alabama? They have zero top 25 wins and lost at home to a team Memphis destroyed. Baylor? Their best win is ISU, seriously look it up. TCU? Barely beat a bad Minnesota team and had to have a flukey tip play to beat a garbage Texas Tech team. Ohio St? They were tied with Maryland in the third quarter, obvisouly not something a playoff team would do.

Canzeri is returning? When?

Not surprised Iowa played a little sloppy at times today. These games after a bye week always make me nervous.

Good coaches benefit from extra time to prepare for a rival, if you're saying we do the opposite then Barta needs to address that.

Sorry....can't use the injury excuse.

MD's starting right OT tackle Damian Prince was out.
MD's WR, Levern Jacobs, also missed the game.
MD's program is in disarray with the dismissing of Edsall.

Iowa looked rusty in 2nd half.

Style points do matter....they matter to the selection committee...and if you don't think so, you simply need to look at how OSU got invited last year....their 59-0 thrashing of Wisconsin in the B1G game.....had that game been close, OSU stays home.

If we play like this and play a one or two loss team in the B1G champ game, and win, even at 13-0, I don't believe we go.

Our only scenario is to go 12-0, then beat an undefeated OSU team....then we go.

Im not making excuses for anything. Im saying we're good, and we're only going to get better.

13 - 0 goes. Unless you think Memphis our Houston are going instead of Iowa, there will probably only be one power 5 unbeaten after championship week. There are rarely two.

Iowa had 240 offensive yards and a 21-0 halftime lead which included a nice opening drive and a barely missed FG attempt. It could have been 24-0 at the half.

That was very dominating in my eyes.

The hawks started off with really bad field position in their first two drives of the third qtr after Maryland ate up the first 6 1/2 minutes. So the whole third qtr was defense and bad field position for Iowa.

Iowa never got good 2nd half field position until the first onside kick in the 4th qtr and they hawks immediately ate up clock and scored a FG to go up 24-7. A good answer.

The first half was playoff quality and the second half was more a reaction to bad field position.

Iowa is 8-0 for the second time in program history. Reading many of the posts on this board, it appears Iowa lost yesterday & is 4-4 for the season.

8-0 baby. 8-0.

Yes we're 8-0 and that's groovy. But IMO the goal isn't to be 8-0, we wanna be 14-0. And if Barta makes an emergency hire and I get the highly paid "spiritual team-leader" post I've been lobbying for, we WILL be 14-0.

This will be my first speech at the pre-game locker-room huddle.

"Dear Lord. Thank you for humbling Nebraska, as they have cyber-tormented our fan-base for so long. And thank you for helping us get to 8-0. And please forgive us for saying there is no beer in heaven when clearly there is judging by how messed up humanity is. Before we face our Hoosier enemy, please make us unbreakable, like the M Night Shyamalan movie of the same name. And please remind your flock that running up the score is not a sin . . . especially if it's against the Cornhuksters. Thank you for your blessings. Amen."

Who's comparing 8-0 to 4-4? Of course I'm thrilled at 8-0.

To argue otherwise makes zero sense.

I'm simply stating, IMO, what Iowa's 8-0 has to do to make the playoffs.

We don't get national pub. We don't get national love. I doubt we get selection committee love.

We need to do more than dink around and beat inferior teams by two scores if we want to be seriously considered in the playoff discussion.

No we don't. Once Utah lost, we pretty much guaranteed our spot if we win out. Notre Dame losing would 100% lock us in.
