NOT LOOKING LIKE A PLAYOFF TEAM TODAY

This was the "just show up" performance one might expect for this game. Not real impressive against a 2-5 team. Not mentally sharp, but enough to win. Any coaching done at half? And yes...a little "old Kirk" was in the house.

Koehn better get his head screwed on or it will cost us a game at some point.

Good to see LeShun running well.

Indiana can score. Better bring quarters and a solid D next week...along with an aggressive offense.

Fans that can be negative about winning make me sick. Iowa dominated, they ran the ball well, won the turnover battle, played dominating defense, that is what wins. This is a championship level team.

Great teams put opponents away. OSU went up 49-21 before subbing in their 2nd team in their Maryland game.

OSU took that lead 49-21 with 5:46 left in the game. Iowa was up 31-7 early in the 4th quarter. I would argue that was more impressive. The kick return was the only thing that occurred after that.

Never ever take a win for granted and for that, congrats Hawks on being 8-0. My onl request, take the second half, put it in a box and sink it to the bottom of the sea.

Going up 21-0 in the first half and coasting to an easy win seems like what a playoff team would do. Being tied in the third quarter to this team certainly doesn't seem like what a playoff team would do.

Yep just like OSU has done to Northern Illinois anf Indiana, put those teams away nice and early this year. Just like TCU did to Minnesota and Bama did to Tennessee and Michigan St did to Rutgers and Purdue. That's what great teams do.

Iowa's defense was dominant most of the game and the offense looked good early on but the offense was crap in the second half. CJ held the ball way too long and the line didn't do much to help him out. The playcalling was the worst that I've seen this year. We aren't being negative we are concerned about the lack of second half execution. To your point I would say this is a Championship level defense and an average offense. Indiana will be tough because we will need to throw the ball down field and we aren't very consistent there. Hope you aren't getting sick.

I'm confused... We did win by two scores right? Despite a clearly hobbled QB we dominated a team who gave it their best shot so what's with all of the complaining? It was a solid win. What a joke...

You can't honestly believe that was a dominating performance! I don't and obviously neither did the coaching staff. If they never felt threatened in the 4th, they wouldn't have left the starters or CJ out there. Don't be delusional, a win is win and we're 8-0 but that wasn't pretty.

If there are >4 unbeatens and MSU/OSU has a loss. I don't think its that silly.
There won't be. The Pac 12 doesn't currently have an undefeated team. TCU/OKL St/Baylor all have to play each other in the last 4 or 5 weeks. That means that not more than 1 team could emerge from that round robin undefeated. If any of them do. The SEC/ACC/BIG all have Championship games.
At best, there could be an undefeated ACC, BIG, Big 12 and an SEC team. And I doubt that we will end up with 4 undefeated teams, as I could easily see Bama beating LSU and I think Okl St has the best schedule of the 3 undefeated Big 12 teams.

You're being whiney. Don't be that guy. Hawks took care of business today. On to the next one.

24 - 7 on the offensive side of the ball.
7 - 0 on the defensive side of the ball.
They beat us 0 - 8 on special teams.

We outscored them in 2 out of 3 phases of the game. More importantly, our offensive output alone would have won the game. As I said in another thread: 3 TD lead at half, a defense pitching a shutout, and a gimpy QB...it was in no way surprising that we leaned so heavily on the run in the second half. If I was a betting man, I put down money that this will be the plan and the team we see going forward, unless and until CJ can get back to near health.

That's Nick. Ya can't really respect anything he posts cuz there is no attempt at objectivity. Iowa had 4 turnovers to 1 and we only win by 2 scores. 293 total offensive yards to 241 is NOT dominating. When you're playing arguably the worst team in the Big Ten and have a 3 turnover advantage you should be crushing them.
