I was referring to SOS. I was still clinging to a small thread of hope for the NC, perhaps foolishly, but if Arizona had continued to win, and Alabama lost like they did, it would have been a very strong set-up for a one loss team to play in the NC game. I think we will beat OSU, who will likely be #1 when we play them, just one week before the end of the season. That could have propelled us to #2. But when your one loss comes to a team that loses like AZ did to a very mediocre Oregon St., bye bye NC.
Worry about what Iowa can control.
The second the loss to AZ was final, the NC game was out of Iowa's hands. They will need help to get there. The dominoes must line up and fall correctly, which is a longshot.
Winning the Big Ten and getting to a BCS game (Rose Bowl) is entirely within Iowa's control. Just win and it will happen.
I assume that if Iowa goes undefeated in the Big Ten, the Rose Bowl would be the worst case scenario. Am I correct on that? With one loss the NC game would be doubtful (yet still possible) and being the outright Big Ten champion, the Rose Bowl autobid would be ours. Correct???
