Northwestern loses Crawford for the year

According to Teddy Greenstein, Crawford is going to undergo season ending surgery due to a torn labrum.

Well that makes it easier for us this year. Crawford was one of their only bright spots, so this helps us quite a bit.

Beating them won't carry the weight that it would have otherwise. A break in the B10 schedule might be nice but a sweep (play twice?) of them may not impress the committee when it's all said an done.

Yeah it is somewhat of a win loss situation. Yeah the wins are nice but it may hurt when it comes to tourney time. But then again, NW always seems to have our number so it would be nice to be able to sweep them for once.

This is huge IMO. The Hawks should now sweep NW along with PSU and Nebraska. With how beatable Purdue and Wisky have looked so far, Iowa has a pretty decent chance to win 10 B1G games.

NW Drew Crawford out for the year

Shoulder injury. Huge, huge loss for them.

Iowa needs to sweep the Cats and the Tim Frazier-less Nits. Sweep NE and split with WI and Purdue, there's 8 league wins right there. Then upset two people and you are at 10.

Good news for Hawk fans and I'm glad I won't have to hear "DREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEWWWWW for TWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" if I decide to go to some more games.

Is there an echo in here?

Probably not, but if Iowa is going to make the big dance they will need to have some wins against top 25 teams anyway and even if Iowa swept NW with Crawford it still wouldn't have been that impressive.
