North End Zone

It's all about the exposure factor.. The TV cameras generally stay low to the field and te first few rows of the stadium. The idea is to fill those seats with Hawkeye fans so potential recruits at home aren't sitting there thinking, "damn, Wisconsin has a lot of fans there."

If the visiting team is doing well against us and they have something to cheer about don't you think the people in charge of the camera's will know exactly where the visitors are sitting and put them on TV.DUH

No...its all about the $$. Squeezing every last nickel out of us and they found another way. Where is the one section in the stadium that doesn't require a per seat "donation"? The NORTH END ZONE. How many tickets are opposing teams allotted? I saw one figure that says 4,000. So now 4,000 season ticket holders potentially have to move to a location that requires a per seat "donation" because their seats are taken. 4,000 x $50 minimum seat donation is another $200,000. This is minimum because many locations have a higher per seat minimum. Just saying.

Of course they will. Will they be in the camera shot on at least half, if not more of the plays now? No.

Never thought of it that way but I think your right. We give at the Bronze level but always liked the NEZ.

It's always about the money, if it was about TV cameras and what looked good on TV like some on here claim, then we would have found a way to get the students around the court at Carver as that looks a lot better on TV than pastel sweater wearing Hawk fans. Remember, that extra $200k was just a minimum extra they'll potentially get. Most of those seats on the sidelines are $200-600 for the seat donations. And, as one poster noted, when you look at the seats left there are a lot of low ones...that should tell you how great those seats are. Just the facts.

I liked the move by the university on this one. I always thought it was a huge boost for the opposing team to run out into their own crowd, and have their fans sitting directly behind them. Nowhere else is it like that.

I'm sure money may be a motivating factor as well, but regaining homefield advantage probably doesn't hurt the push. When we return to dominating at home and winning the overwhelming majority of games in Kinnick (particularly the games we should be winning), the fans will flock and drop many dimes for ol GarBar and KirFer.

Just my 2¢.

Would you pay $400+ per seat extra for those low ones though? Personally I wouldn't. They need to lower the minimum donation a bunch on those seats IMO, those seats are horrible views. But I'm sure there will be plenty of suckers fork over good coin not knowing any better.

The $400/seat section is closer to the middle of the field, so it's not as crappy of a seat by comparison to the seats near the endzone/visitor tunnel.

And to be closer to the field to heckle the opposing teams would not suck. I'm sure some would definitely justify their monies to get those seats.

As far as sticking the visitor in that section because they are terrible view seats, isn't a good idea; it gives the visiting team it's fans as they come into Kinnick. That's always been my beef with it.
