No way we lose to Northwestern....

I'm thinking the Minny loss was an eye opener for the team and Aaron White's comment about losing the game in warmups has caused a lot of soul searching. I think we come out and play well and win by double digits. If we don't we may be looking at a disappointing finish to this season.

Minny aint gonna be a top 100 team either after WI beats the hell out of them twice, among other losses with their tough remaining schedule.

I think we run all over NW and Rutgers. Then we go to Nebraska for the next "critical" game. Since almost all of the Big 10 teams will have at least 5 losses when we play Nebraska we will again be talking about a Friday bye in the BTT being right there for the taking. Michigan was critical and we won. Maryland was very important and we won. Minnesota didn't seem quite so crucial and we lost. Nebraska will be another must have win.

You keep on thinking that. Hasn't the same thing been said about a half dozen times already this year? Wake up people. This team is very mentally fragile and there is nothing the coaches or anyone else can do to fix it.

The rest of the year they'll look like a top 5 team for a few games and then for a few games they'll play like Palmer College of Chiropractic.

Losing to Wisconsin twice won't knock them out of the top 100...almost guaranteed. I just looked at their schedule. If they win their home games against NW and PSU they can probably lose the rest and stay in the top 100. Their other 2 games are at Indiana and at MSU.

I was thinking the same thing. Losing games on the road to Wisconsin and Indiana could potentially help their RPI. It definitely won't hurt it... Flawed RPI.

Just like last year in the BTT too after beating NW 2x prior by 20+ points? When will people learn that nothing comes easy for Iowa athletics. Nothing! We don't have that luxury. Every game is a toss-up for Iowa. Have we not learned this yet?

While brief, this might be the most accurate description of Iowa football & basketball that I've ever read.

Exactly. I'm pretty sure Iowa's RPI actually went UP after getting blasted in Madison.. It may be stupid, but that's the way RPI seems to work. And I know there have been times when our RPI has gone down after beating a lowly ranked team. So it seems better to lose to good teams than to beat bad teams..

They have lost 10 games in a row and most fanbases would feel confident about going into a game like that yet with Iowa this game makes me very nervous. Would not be surprised if Iowa lost this game. Would just fit the narrative of who we've come to expect.

You sir, might've just jinxed us....:p...just like the announcer said that Minnesota has lost 7 games on the road until that night....oy

Whether those on this board think so or not, Minnesota is much better than their record indicates...and they can defend with their quickness...and they play together defensively. They have been a tough out for every game they have played in the B10...why would our game be any different. They have the perfect recipe for beating Iowa...guards that can penetrate and dish and a guard that is an assassin from the outside. Hollins just hit the shots in big, big situations. The freshman guard also made a big three and then hit four free throws with huge pressure. A 64% shooter from the FT line sticks four in a row with that pressure. Not our night...period.

We didn't shoot the ball well and didn't protect it well, especially in the first half. That being said, we still have a chance to tie at the end of the game and MG made a really bad decision. Really bad.

The sky isn't falling and there is one thing different about this team from last year. We are tougher...and we defend much much better. This game will go Iowa's way...Northwestern doesn't defend like Minnesota and they aren't as deep at the guard position as Minnesota. We will wear them out on the inside and win by double digits.

Northwestern is a much better team than their record.
