He will mention Alford getting the big contract...no mention that his team stunk and got beat by an Ivy League team. Word has it that the Harvard locker room was playing "If I only had a brain..." from the Wizard of Oz after the game. How did that NM team win the Mountain West...their big guys looked like they were running in cement. No way they would be Arizona anyway.

If so, please feel free to post said thoughts and feelings.

His view of the Alford situation is extremely one-sided and he did himself no favors among the fanbase by spouting off as if he knew the whole inside scoop (but Alford is doing all he can to prove that it wasn't just "an Iowa problem"...thanks, Steve). Aside from that I actually like Dakich's color commentary. It's of a slightly different bent than most and he'll say pretty bluntly what he's thinking. I'm curious to see to what degree, if any, he'll dive into the Alford stuff during the UVA game.

You're right, of course. And I have no idea what's been written on Twitter. But in defense of anyone who felt the need to take up the banner, the latest round of "controversy" absolutely did not have Iowa origins. In fact, other than the occassional "Check out New Mexico" thread, all things Alford had pretty much faded away. And then Seth Davis popped up from nowhere last month (after admitted discussions with Alford may I add) and felt the need to reiterate SA's insinuations that the ultimate failure at Iowa was upon the school, not the coach. When Davis began to take some heat, Dakich took up the campaign as well.

I'm not into Twitter or un-winnable wars, but I can't fault those who took offense and spoke their minds. Yeah, I'm sure there's a fair number of morons making ridiculous declarations and making us look bad, but in this day and age that's true of every fanbase.

Related Side Note:

I see the NIT semifinals are played on April 2nd. The two possible times are 6 and 8 o'clock. I imagine both games will be played that night, a late game and an early game. Is there any way of knowing if the Hawks would get the late game or is that decided based who's best for primetime? I got a tax appointment that may need rescheduling if it's the early game.

I'm sure if the Hawks beat Virginia I'll get screwed and they'll be playing at 6:00

Obsessed? The only time I talk about that FK Alfraud is either when some dbag praises the SOB, or when he loses as a 3 seed to a 14, like he did here, and I have a little fun reminding his fanboys how gershdern swell he really is. Otherwise the tool never enters my mind. Hell, I never talked about the dbag when he was here or when he bolted. But I'm not going to sit idly by while dumbFs heap praise on the jerk, not after what he did to my alma mater.
