No, Really: CJ Fiedorowicz is EXCITED about New Offense

I hope everyone is as enthusiastic as CJ is about the new offense. It's exciting to read. We could end up scoring more points than some of us think this year.
The only complaint I have about the article is that Coker is in the picture. I can't help but think how exciting the offense would have been with him running the ball for the Hawks this year. Hopefully, with this new found excitement in the program, we won't be thinking about him at all by the end of the season.

I really like how he mentions Davis's relatability and personality. KOK actually said hello to me one day as an undergrad when I was walking home (I lived over by Carver), so this isn't meant as a contrast at all with him. But I think enjoyment for the guys is a good foundation for one or a few of those seasons where everything seems to go right for the Hawks.

[Note: I guess this comment could serve as a contrast to that D-(line coach/bag) that Bo Pelini absorbed onto his evil amoebic globule of a coaching staff.]

Nice to read/hear. I think it is important when the players enjoy their coaches. And as CJ mentioned, when you have a coach with 39 years of experience you might take to heart what he is telling you! :)

Yep, I'm excited about an oc with a 14-31 head coaching record. Kurt used to work fo O'Keefe.

What I find odd is CJF saying the new O tells the TE where to go each play and KMM saying the new O gives him options on routes to run depending on what the D is showing pre snap. ????

I very well could be wrong, but I think maybe KMMs wording may be the confusion. I would assume he meant that you read the defense, as does the rest of the offense, and you run the route that is assigned to you for that play with that defensive set. I doubt there is much in the way of an 'option' for the player to decide, just to opt based on the defensive read. Otherwise the QB isn't going to know where he is going. We have seen that a few times before when the ball was thrown to a spot on a timed route, but the WR ran a different route.
