Buy a gift from the baby and give it to your son when you bring the newborn home. It makes bringing home the baby a treat for your son.

I remember bringing the second baby home. I had this overwhelming feeling that I had just betrayed her. It was weird but I got over it. It's when you realize just how much your oldest has come from when they were a baby. Then of course you make the mistake of thinking and treating them like they're older than they really are and you don't realize it until you look at pictures a couple of years later and realize what a loser you were for treating them like that when they really were just a baby and then suddenly they're grown up and married. I'm going to go have a cry now. Thanks.
