Management does seem determined to keep the team in a constant state of mediocrity.I think the Iowa Jets might be able to beat the New York Jets. Sorry, long suffering Jets fan here.![]()
I honestly didn't give a rat's ass whether they came to Iowa City or not. But I just shake my head at them going to New York City. No one there gives a shit about college football. And to see the press release from ESPN talking about the "rich college football history" in New York City had me laughing out loud. The brass over there just doesn't get it....at all.

Your Jets had better not take the #1 pick from my Browns! #ifeelyourpain
I don't really disagree, but really, where should they have gone instead? There aren't any "marquee" games next week so they had to go somewhere. Kinda makes sense for them to go to a high profile place they've never been to try to drum up interest in a city that normally isn't very interested.
Its not much different than the NFL going to London and Mexico, or the MLB going to Australia, Japan and Mexico.
Then go to a small college/FCS college and give them some run.
They'll fit right in with the Naked Cowboy, Elmo, Mickey Mouse, Spiderman and the other assorted goofs roaming about Times Square. Hmmm - the Naked Corso - think about that for a second. Too late, it's already in your brain.Maybe. They've done that before. I remember when they went to NDSU, that was pretty cool.
My guess is more people will remember "that time they went to times square" than "that time they went to Toledo". I don't watch pregame shows anymore so I don't really care, but I can understand the logic.
I wish they were... Any publicity like that is great for the city and program. I'm not a guy that sits around and watches 3 hours of that either but the boost it brings of positivity for the program for recruiting purposes can't really be quantified...Glad they aren't coming.
