NIU--very classy

Classy in life, petty in football. Timeouts when down 26? Come on
Yeah that sort of thing makes a coach want to run the score up on you... At that point just go home. They had nothing to gain by that at all. All our scrubs were in the game no meaningful tape was to be had from it for them. I wasn't a fan of that either...

That's pretty neat. A lot of positive coming from the wave. It is indeed affecting all who play at and visit Kinnick. Can't wait to participate during the UNI game.

Hey if they want to prolong an ass beating as long as they possibly can but using timeouts, knock yourselves out. I would have probably gotten the game over with as soon as possible but apparently their coach saw value in taking the timeouts.

If he wants to try to get his offense on the fields for more reps, let him. But, then good on Iowa to try to make first downs in that situation to keep him from doing so, by throwing the ball. All's fair.

Solid move by NIU with that video. I'm a fan, hope they do well for the rest of the year.

NIU fans I talked to were pretty nice, one lady commented on the wave and got a little choked up.

On a side note, my buddies who sit down low on the visitor sidelines had a fun day with some of the doggie players. They had a couple of guys who didn't get the "don't engage with the fans" message from their coaches.

Late in the 3rd Qtr, Sutton Smith happened to be facing the stands...helmet off. My buddy says "Haven't heard your name much today...what happened?". He looked up and just shrugged. "Pulled your punches huh?" He immediately walked to the other end of the bench. He said the whole team looked pretty beat down. Hawks definitely won the game physically...they couldn't hang.

Indeed. Know when to quit. There is no dishonor in tapping out when the thing is sealed. That kind of bullshit does nothing but disgrace your own team and lead to possible injuries. AD's look at juvenile behavior like that and think, nah, I'll pass, enjoy your MAC career.
