NIT Projections

Interesting. Actually I was going to start a thread asking people's thoughts on playing a quarter system. The women have gone to it. I like the idea and find it a little more exciting.

Years and years ago, didn't college men play a quarter system, like early 1980's?

My Dad's yearbooks go back to 40's (he taught there) and none of those games had quarters. It would have to predate that.

I played in the Iowa Conference, graduating in 1978. We played 2 halves. For our pre-season games we experimented with a shot clock that was the same as the women had at the time: 30 seconds.

Love the quarters. So tired of seeing both teams in every game get to the double bonus in each half. It's hard to not commit 10 fouls in 20 minutes of play. I think it's worked well on the women's side and I'd love to see them make this change moving forward.

I still don't think they make NIT without finishing 3-2 and, at least, 1-1 in B14T. Have to protect home court and not get completely blasted at UM & UW to stay at large and avoid getting bumped by mid & lower tier season champs.
