Nile at 7 is a good number with all the great athletes that have played in the Big Ten great honor too be in the top 10.
Looks like college wrestlers are the ones who got screwed again by this poll. They have golfers and hockey (field & ice), but not one wrestler made the list including Olympic gold medalists Tom Brands and Leroy Kemp. What a crock of sh!t.
Brands was actually #50, but I believe he was the only one to make the cut. Speaking of hockey players in the Big Ten, I was a little surprised to see Mark Johnson (Wisconsin) get passed over. 2-time All-American and the best skater on the 1980 Olympic team.
5. Tom Harmon
did jim delaney and the big ten conference **** in your cheerios, too?
If you think Delaney is bad, you should try having to deal with Dan Beebe and the Big Texa$$ conference. Jim has made some mistakes, but Dan Beebe makes Delaney look like Einstein.Remember...this is the same conference that brought us the new Big Ten logo and those awesome new division names. This is the same conference that brought us all those great Big Ten bowl games at the same time and managed to cut the Rose Bowl viewing audience by 15% over last year. This is the same conference that brings you all those great football and basketball officials. And so why would you expect THAT conference to do right by Nile Kinnick? The conference that enjoys the term "student-athlete" has no greater example -- it's not even close -- than Nile Kinnick. He is No. 1 without debate. But it's no surprise the Big Ten Conference has no clue. When does it?
Really?
I wouldn't even have Harmon in the Top 5 of all-time Michigan icons, let alone the Big Ten.

What 5 Michigan players would you take over him? He still holds the record for leading the country in scoring 2-straight years, was male athlete of the year in 1940, only Michigan player to ever get a standing ovation from Ohio State fans after beating them and was rated by ESPN as the 16th best college football player of all time. Please do inform me.
