Nico Law’s helmet removing hit

I gotta say Bullock knocked Law back. Only needed to have his dome on tighter. It was a manly collision by both players.

I thought the same thing. No one has said anything about that hit not taking Bullock down. I think that says a lot.

Re:Nico LawÂ’s helmet removing hit

I saw a lot of helmet coming off last year
Several a game
They maybe forced to tight those helmets up they go on to easy
I remember having to grab the ear holes and stretch the helmet to get it on
Today I have seen they just grab the face mask and slid their helmet on

It's crazy how many of them don't have helmets strapped up tight..hopefully that will change with the new rule.

Re: Nico Laws helmet removing hit

law will be fun to watch with the way he attacks. yet i feel like our dbs all need to work on wrapping. i had little to complain about prater but he didnt wrap well. i feel like a lot of iowa dbs have tried to be the second coming of bob sanders and we sometimes miss tackles because of it.
I take issue with this because Prater clearly had issues last year. There was a running thread about him last year explaining the many missed tackles and coverages he had and it wasn't a rare thing to see. I'm glad we've moved on and I'm excited to see Law back there.

what do you take issue with? i said that my one complaint about prater was not wrapping. but he is still the 2nd best cb that iowa has had under kf. i think lowery will take his place as 2nd best but he was still solid. btw saying you are glad we have law back there sounds like you think law is taking prater's spot...he isnt he is taking bernstine's spot. our dbs have been the biggest constant at iowa outside the ol. and their tackling has gotten worse each yr by not wrapping and wanting to hit like sanders...most cant so wrap. maybe wilson being the old lb coach will drill this into the dbs.

Wrapping up is becoming a lost art. I think it all started in the NFL and the kids just emulate what they see on TV. I now see it all the time in high school games, too. They're all after the big hit that makes the crowd go nuts. There have been games where I've almost become hoarse yelling "Wrap him up!". I would think the coaches would get on them about it... maybe times have changed.

he came down due to two other hawks assisting on the tackle.

I can see that. Kind of the point...situation doesn't lend itself to greatness. It was a good hard hit by two guys running fast, that's about it.

It's interesting to me that no one brought up the fact that Law didn't wrap up and make the hit you'd like to see from your secondary. I am not a big fan of DB's coming up and doing that lead shoulder battering ram technique. A good RB in an open field situation will
