NFL's Aaron Hernandez Home Searched After Killing (brother of Iowa FB GA)

I think the fact that football is such a "violent" sport doesn't help either. These players are coached to be "mean and physical" and it's not something that I, think, can simply be turned off or controlled the moment they step off the field. Not saying that all players have this problem or trying to go to a darker side of the sport, but the fact is that these players got to where they are because they were tougher and more physical then their opponents. I don't think any of these guys are lacking anything in the ego/testosterone department and as we all know that isn't always a good thing.

I understand and even agree with most of what you're saying.

However, I'm not sure I like the way you categorize them as "these players". There are roughly 3000 players in the NFL. Hernandez still needs to be found guilty, but he's currently being investigated for the murder of 3 people and the shooting of a 4th. Murder is not a widespread problem in the NFL. In fact, it's pretty much unheard of. Now a lot of players get into some trouble once they get a crapload of money dumped into their accounts, but murdering people is on a completely different level.

Did you see the look on Hernandez's face while in court? He showed virtually no emotion. It doesn't matter what kind of upbringing he had. It's not like he beat someone up so bad they ended up dying (due to the aggresiveness he learned playing football). We're talking about a man who is shooting people with little or no regret simply because they disrespected him. The guy is a cold blooded killer. No matter what kind of trouble NFL players are getting into they don't deserve to be lumped into the same category as this guy.

Ray Lewis and Ben Roethlisberger used the same attorney to get out of their little predicament Aaron Hernandez might need to get that cats phone number in the next couple weeks.

He broke his phone though...he only got one call from jail...what is a thug to do?

Surprised not to see the other Iowa connection mentioned. We offered Hernandez in 2006. He committed to UConn, planning to join his brother there, then switched to Florida.

You could say we had a close call. Or maybe Kirk and staff could have made a difference in his life. Who knows.
