NFL's Aaron Hernandez Home Searched After Killing (brother of Iowa FB GA)

Ray Lewis and Ben Roethlisberger used the same attorney to get out of their little predicament Aaron Hernandez might need to get that cats phone number in the next couple weeks.

In regards to attorneys; this part of the article Jon referenced piqued my interest.

During the search, Hernandez received a hand-delivered package from the prominent law firm Ropes and Gray around 7:30 p.m., with the deliveryman telling reporters swarming the sidewalk outside that it was addressed to "Mr. Hernandez himself."

1. Why was that noteworthy in the eyes of the reporter?
2. Why would Aaron be receiving a package from an attorney at the exact same time his house was being searched?
3. What would have been in said package?

Any insights from HN's unofficial legal counsel KOK4Prez?

I don't think Hernandez is going to be needing his playbook for awhile....if ever again. This sounds really really bad for him. Sounds like the cops are taking their time crossing their eyes and dotting their Ts to make sure they don't mess up anything. It might be a day or two more till they arrest him but it sure seems inevitable that they will.....As far as Jon starting a thread goes...If he wants to start a convo he can do it where ever however in the heck he wants can't he?

His brother recently joined Iowa's coaching staff. If someone doesn't see how this relates to Iowa football then they are just looking for something to bi*ch about. Is it directly related? No, but who really cares? It's like a 2nd grader complaining that they caught a classmate peeking while playing heads up seven up... irrelevant.

Back on topic... he seriously hired a cleaning service, destroyed his cell phone, and destroyed his security system? How convenient. If that doesn't scream "I'm guilty" I don't know what does. Clearly his lawyers told him he's better off looking guilty, than being found guilty with hard evidence.

So the thought crossed your mind that there was a better forum to put this in? Me too.

Doesn't this involve professional sports more than Iowa football? If Aaron Hernandez faces charges, is Iowa going to have to scour for a new GA? Highly doubtful.

This story has little to no relevance to the Iowa football program.

Youve got to be a special kind of douc*er to tell the owner of a website what he can and cant post and where it should be posted. Congrats on winning douc*er of the year bozo!

All I can say is dudes who ain't done nothing wrong don't call Ropes and Gray. Those guys charge a fortune, but their defense work is usually stuff like "help, I've been accused of securities fraud for paying myself $100 million and failing to disclose it" or "hey, I 'accidentally' forgot to report $60 million of income on my tax returns."

If I was a parent of a kid who was going to sign with Iowa, I would ask a few more questions. Especially if Hernandez was going to be his position coach.

You guys are funny...P.S. I still don't understand why this is a four page thread on an Iowa football page.

Yeah, destroying evidence , hiring cleaners to come to your house....My god this guy is doing everything wrong if you did something wrong. He will probably get off though.

There were a lot if laffer taffers for sure. Suspects two and three belichek and assistant coach were seen running from house...

Not to mention apparently leaving a rental car (rented in his name) not far from where the body was discovered. Hell, that's what led investigators to Hernandez in the first place.
