NFL has a yellow flag problem-College FBall to follow suit

The last few years there really seems to be an increase in penalties called in NFL games. Not sure of the numbers but the stoppage of play the last few seasons has seemed to be way worse. Some ref crews seem to really be going overboard.

If anyone watched the Eagles at Cowboys yesterday the 4th qtr was just yellow flag after flag, some calls were very bogus both ways, and some of these games are littered with yellow flags.

I did not realize until yesterday the NFL makes it illegal for a running back to lead with his helmet (as Zeke Elliott was flagged for for 15 yards), are they supposed to just run upright and get drilled. And there is so much contact on pass plays between receiver and defender that goes uncalled (it could be called most plays) that when they called Off Pass Interference against the Eagles backup TE it was no even borderline push off.

The other one yesterday was the sack by the Cowboys where the rusher looped around behind the QB and tackle him, just only tackled him, the rusher didnt go into Wentz' legs with force it was an arm tackle.

Anyway, we have seen some low blocks in college get called as illegal even though the blocker gets his head in front of the person being blocked, I think there probably could be more holding called on the offense in college ball and wide receivers blocking on the various WR screens hold alot . I am just wondering when there will be a lot more yellow flying in college games

So i'm pretty sure and felt at the time that the call on gregory for roughing the passer was a makeup call cause they knew they totally botched the call on the tight end. Those were back to back plays and it was pretty obviously a makeup.
Couldn't agree with you more on games in general and that eagles cowboys game. They took a touchdown off the board for offensive pass interference on a te that accidentally hit a guys shoulder pad with his head. I have no concept why they call that one.

The call on zeke was legit he purposely lowered the boom with his helmet and created a dangerous head to head situation, just like they would call on a defender who went helmet to helmet. It turned out to be legit too because zeke went to the bench cause he got his bell rung.

The lowering the crown of the helmet is a new rule as of this year. The Zeke one was about as blatant as they come. He doesn’t need to stand up strait and take a hit, he can still lower his shoulder (with his head up and finish runs). When you start using the crown of your helmet as a weapon that’s when it gets dangerous for both the defender and ball carrier.

The worst call of that game was on the opening play. Blatant fumble by the cowboys recovered by the eagles. Refs on field say no fumble. Eagles challenge and the ref says although they did fumble there wasn’t a clear recovery, while the eagles came away with the ball and were the only players near the ball. The eagles also lost their challenge because the replay officials couldn’t determine a clear recovery, which makes no sense.

yeah didn't see that opening play, came in somewhere in that 2nd quarter i think. that's pretty egregious.

youre right.

If the refs are throwing more yellow it’s because they are being told to throw more yellow. They don’t make this up on their own.

Refs should never do a makeup call just because of a lame call. And the head ref who called the roughing on Gregory would not have even been looking downfield to see that it was a lame call. So I dont think it was a makeup call.

It was an over reaction call to protecting QBs in the pocket as I guess you cant tackle them low even if just with your arms and not much force.

Ratings are at an all time low

Actually ratings are up this year, I read network analysts saying it has to do with better games and matchups, more decent teams, Andrew Luck being back sure helps to get some Indy fans watching. The Patriots look human.

KC, the Rams and a few others are great, the Bears help.

And by the way the analysts and NFL now know through research that ratings were not down because of Kapernick and kneeling but that the games the last two years were not good.

From 2015 to present day America . Down 2 million viewers. 5 percent raise doesn’t get it out of the all time low range . Even this year I read the Thursday night ratings are ugly

Depending on the Th games. You clearly didn't read any of the material I gave you. You still don't understand what lowest ever means. If you are UP from something then you CAN NOT be an all time low. FUCKING MATH IS HARD

If you want to just base it on just this year , fine . I will get some crayons and color you a picture . I’m basing my figures over the last four years TOTAL. All time low. Check out the ratings prior to 2015 .

The figures from the last four years are lower than than the previous four years or any four year span since NFL became the most popular sport in America. You are correct . You have proven that arithmetic can be very difficult for some.

I've presented facts, you've presented BS. Ratings are up this year. Stop changing parameters to fit your narrative.

You can't be at an all time low IF RATINGS ARE UP. Please don't reproduce 1 of you is enough.

Oh for fucks sake . I can’t fix stupid. I wasn’t aware only 18-49 year olds watch the nfl. Talk about producing bullshit . Can you even smell the shit coming from your mouth? It’s a fact the NFL has lost 2 million viewers since 2015 . Oh wow it’s up 5 percent from last year. What the F is that ? A thousand people ?
