Okay, fashionistas: design your own basketball uni at

Not sure how to get the jerseys I came up with on Nike on here, but I was able to come up with a slightly modernized (not over the top modern) version of the '80 Final Four unis. The "******" is pretty small online, but that could always be blown up. I based it off the Austin Game Jersey, which wasn't all that flashy.
To get the picture: If you have a PC, press the Prt Scr button on your keyboard. It takes a screenshot and puts a copy in your clipboard. Use Paint (or photoshop or other editing program), paste it, then crop it. Save it as a jpg, then upload it here.
Yeah, I know, it's only 53 steps.
What about our players though? To assume that their psyche has no bearing on their play is a dangerous gambit. If players perceive themselves as looking stupid, it could be a distraction for them. Likewise, if the players perceive themselves as looking cool and confident, they may play more relaxed.
Psychology of athletes is a huge business -- especially for young men 18-24 (Research Hayden Fry & the Pink Locker Room). The image our athletes project does leave an impression on themselves and the audience. Nothing unimportant about that.

That is correctHey BA/MA...would that be the "Print Screen/SysRq button on the top right of my keyboard? (dell, if that matters)
That is correct
I am absolutely amazed that so many of you have put so much thought into something so unimportant. Gun to my head, I couldn't tell you a single detail of the uniforms they wore last season.
You know I started this thread out with "Even though it's of little importance..." for a reason. That's called a disclaimer. But I knew some self-important guy with no grasp on reality would skip over my disclaimer and state how stupid we are for discussing such a "unimportant" topic. Guess what? WE ARE FANS! We're not on staff with U of I. We're on a message board. Nobody listens to us on here. We're all talking about things that are totally out of our control, so virtually every conversation started on here is "unimportant".
Do us all a favor and get off your high horse, put down the potato chips, wipe your hands on your stretched-out v-neck t-shirt (or your tighty-whiteys), put on some pants, and click somewhere else in this forum where you feel "important" again.
In the mean time we'll still be here discussing this "unimportant" topic and actually having fun.
Wait...what does 'GhostofBTT' stand for? Ghost of Big Ten Team? Does the Ghost = Alford cuz he's not here anymore but still haunts our program? and the Big Ten Team=Iowa?Steve Alford listens to us on here lol. Seriously, he does.

is 'GhostofBTT' is Steve Alford?

Nothing personal (and nice job doing the mock-up), but I don't care for this. IMHO you've been paying too much attention to Nike and everything they've done to ruin sports uniforms. I can't see anything of what I'd consider past classics in there. Just my own $.02 of course.
The current batch of Nike no-trim game jerseys look like practice uniforms to me. I want a game jersey that looks like a traditional game jersey.
The non-arched, no-gold trim "IOWA" looks like it was ironed on by the local sporting goods shop. I don't like the Alford-ish "Nascar Iowa" either. Bring back the vertically arched block Iowa like the baseball team uses. Their black jerseys in particular are sweet.
Personally, I hate it when "2"s have the slanted part in the middle that makes them look like malformed "7"s. Bring back the classic block font numbers like baseball and football use.
The shorts are too long and billowy. Kneecap length is fine, look at the NCAA tournament, not everybody is wearing the ultra-long shorts. Duke and UNI, just for two examples.
Stripe on the shorts is unremarkable - like most of the Nike unis, looks like about 2 seconds were spent on the design.
In short, I want a more traditional-looking uniform. UCLA and Indiana have kept their basic classic designs, just updated them for shorts length and overall fit. We had Chicago Bulls style unis for a couple of years during the TD era, those looked great IMHO and would look good now.
FWIW, I agree with you on the huge collars on the current jerseys.

Sooo you like basketball or watching the uniforms on the floor? haha you hate when the 2s have the slanted part in the middle? Forgive me more not paying enough attention to the unis and watching the game..
