1. Past Senior World and Olympic Team members
2. Top eight placewinner at the 2011 U.S. Senior World Team Trials
3. Top three placewinner at the 2011 NCAA Championships or NCAA champion from a previous year AND a top two finish at the 2011 University National Championships (must accomplish both).

Pin do you know what the old criteria was or how it's changed?

Way I took it was this is just more defined. Used to seem to be, that if a person applied for an Olympic RS they got one. This criteria were established by a group of coaches.

And everyone is wondering why we didn't acheive a single medal at worlds.Qualifying process for trials is age discriminated and folkstyle money dominates the real scene when it comes to our top athletes.We get exactly what we deserve.

Folkstyle money dominates? That is hilarious. You should check out how some people feel about USA Wrestling and how they spend money between international styles and folkstyle. We want to compete year in year out you're right, it's about money. If we paid for guys to live and paid them just to train like other countries do (remember most of our guys are paying off college debt as well) we'd have more people training full time and fewer looking to other avenues to make a living. If we don't we will struggle on the international scene.

But to blame folkstyle and age discrimination is laughable. Most wrestlers don't peak physically until late 20's on the international level. This isn't gymnastics where 18 is over the hill.

Yes austin is exactly right the us struggles because of the funding of the sport. Half of the wrestlers on the team are coaches or have a full time job other than wrestling. Wrestlers will never be able to make this sport their full time job unless something changes financially..usa just doesn't support wrestling
