Responding to the overwhelming call by football fans across Iowa and the nation, the Nile Kinnick-Jack Trice Rivalry Trophy is announced by the partnership among the Iowa Corn Growers Association and The Iowa Corn Promotion Board (Iowa Corn) and Learfield Sports on behalf of both the Iowa State University and University of Iowa Athletic Departments.

The new trophy represents the best of football and the State of Iowa: honor, commitment, fairness, tolerance, and a fierce competitive spirit.

LOL. Though, I'm not sure I like what looks like a scowl on Kinnick's face as he looks towards Trice...

In any case, why in God's name they did not think to put Kinnick and Trice on the trophy in the first place, I will never know. Not only are the stadiums named after them, and not only are they historic and important figures for both campuses (on and off the field), by all accounts, they were good people.

That actually makes sense.

You're hired.

If the current one stays the losers have to carry it around the field twice while the crowd jeers, and then take it with them.

For a split-second, I thought this was legit. Damn you! You got my hopes up that we would actually have a good trophy!

Well it's good but to represent, instead of books Nile and Jack should be holding an ear of corn....or standing over a grill tailgating.

I can't see the whole picture due to an ad that stretches across it, but I agree, this is what this trophy should look like - for as long as this game is played.

Now that wasn't that hard, was it? Khrist! You did in 15 min what prob took those morons a month to come up with. That makes sense & would make a terrific trophy with connections to both universities. Nicely done.

Had Iowa Corn used this concept, they would have insisted on putting ears of corn in Kinnick's and Trice's hands.

After all, the football game is ALL ABOUT IOWA CORN, isn't it, not the universities?
