Lovie was a bad NFL coach, hope he continues his losing football ways at Illinois.

Dude took the Bears to the Super Bowl. He'd be a spectacular hire and far better than that dump deserves.

I have no idea if Lovie Smith will work out at Illinois or not. Lovie Smith has that same quiet dignity that Tony Dungy has, that Kirk Ferentz has. You will never see Lovie Smith making a buffoon of himself. Thinking about it, he is exactly what Illinois needs right now. A guy who will be able to teach and lead and do it the "right" way. He will probably be their best coach in the last 5 that they have had.

Not the first time. People seem to forget that Carroll had a previous head coaching stint in the NFL prior to USC.
