New Feature at Kinnick...

Lights! Kinnick is now sporting permanent light towers in the north west and south west corners of the stadium.

If you look at the specific line items in the plan for the new practice facility, permanent lights for Kinnick were included. This is nothing new or in response to anything from last year, this was in the plan all along.

Not a response to the weather at all.

It IS a response to the Big Ten Network, IMO...each team will play at least one night prime time game. The better you are, the more of those you are going to play in Sept and October. The economics of renting the lights probably are not as in favor of doing so as buying permanent structures.

Jon, you continue to impress. With all your Hawkeye sports prowess, you still find time to weigh in on cost/benefit analyses. Impressive, indeed. You are correst, of course.

Would bet those still are Musco Lights. They do both temporary and permanent lighting.

Correct. The lights are there for practice. Kinnick is now the only outdoor fieldturf field the program has so it will be used a lot more going forward. They 'lost' their outdoor fieldturf practice field with the new indoor facility.

Musco will still be providing temporary lights for late afternoon and evening games.
