New Expanded BiG basketball

Gander Hawk

With Peyton staying and the new arrivals from the portal, along with Koch, the Hawks looks pretty salty. The new additions from the west may have a bigger impact on basketball, both genders, than they're having on football though.
Will the addition of teams like UCLA and Oregon will making the tourney be a bigger challenge?

Other than having to fly to the west coast once a year for 2 games, and having to compete with 4 more teams for the title, it won't change much for the 14 teams in the east/central time zone.

The Big Ten tourney will still be played in a midwest location for now, and will now have 15 teams. So you used to have a 14 out of 14 chance to make the Big Ten tourney. Now you have a 15 out of 18 chance.

I think the new teams will create challenges. For example, UCLA men's basketball has the potential to be very good this year. Their last two years' recruiting rankings (from 247) note that they were rated 16th and 23rd the past two years. They have real talent.

I thought I read somewhere that the media members picked the Hawks to finish 11th in the BTen this season.
