OMG, IMO, you've successfully hijacked the original post, Chad...
Why'd you, in a much earlier thread, mention you'd watched (in my words) 'countless' high school games? Were you bragging (crowing) about watching countless high school football games at that time, Chad?
See, that's why I remembered that post of yours from a much earlier thread so well.... It doesn't show any knowledge or authority.
BTW, Chad, how many (I assume) Iowa high school games that you've watched/'taped' have intricate passing offenses/defenses?
Do you understand college football is a 'what have you done for me lately' enterprise, Chad? What has Parker's defense done for Iowa football lately? The 2011 football season was a given washout. IMO, nothing could be done. Parker's best part of his defense, the DLine, was in 'shambles' from graduation?
Linebackers are still learning. Defensive backs in pass defense have always been in that bend but don't break stupidity.
Chad,
How do you explain the inadequacies of the 2010 Iowa defense with 3 DLinemen doing well in the NFL? Iowa sacks were almost non-existant in 2010.
Sacks have always been the number one line of defense for Parker's pass defense. It's no wonder there were so many blitzes called this season.
I've always wondered why the sack is the first line of Parker's pass defense since Iowa's DB's are oftentimes the closest to a pass catch or closest to prevent a pass catch.
IMO, Iowa didn't miss pass coverage from any DBs that graduated after the 2010 season. It's bend but don't break ya' know.
Iowa's run defense in 2010 was great except for that Ice Bowl game in Minny. IMO, Iowa needs to keep Parker's quality of run defense.
The linebackers need more athleticism - maybe run a 3-4 defense.
The DB's need to cover.
Let's keep parts of Parkers defense.
Let's make Parker's defense better.
Now's the time for change for the better.
