New Attrition U ?

I think any sport where you 85 scholarships, 22 positions, plus 4 to 10 specialists, means that even with 2-deeps, 30 to 40 guys are not "happy". Nothing to see here...

It seems very few that transfers end up contributing (in football anyway, basketball is totally different) even if they go to a lower level.
UNI had a transfer from Southern Cal that was a Top 5 WR...he was a decent WR, but not a focus of their offense. Name was Whitney something. A few years back.

Kelly is as much a jumper as any of his players. Seriously, I don't think he has been anywhere long enough to see all his first recruiting class graduate.

He also doesn't look too pleasant to play for. You know you are choosing wins when you go with him. Not loyalty, respect, etc. For many, winning trumps everything else. But if you aren't a starter, the rest might not be worth it.

Whitney Lewis. Guy was a 5* prospect out of HS, ended up weighing like 250-260 at like 6'0 at UNI. He was a contributor but certainly didn't live up to that 5* billing.

This is what happens when you recruit highly ranked guys, then get even better guys the next year.

Of course, Alabama (etc) debunk this theory, but who wants to stay in South Bend, IN if you're not playing? ND doesn't have a recruiting base to draw from their "fans". They have to recruit nationally, to even compete. These guys don't love ND going in, so if it's not working out, I'd bail too.
