Anyone who lives close to Nebraska knows there are still plenty of arrogant Husker fans who think Iowa doesn't deserve to be on the same field and should be a win every year. The arrogance obviously exists within the program as well. They have had and will have higher rated recruits every time they play us, yet their largest margin of victory is 13 points, and we've whipped them twice. Kirk needs to be posting this Devaney quote on the wall right now.

Good lord it was an old-fashioned p*** pounding on Black Friday. They may have had more talent as freshman recruits but by the time the games are played it's a different story. Having one of the best developmental programs in all of college football is a great equalizer.

The problem is they didn't have more talent on the roster this year. They didn't have a defensive back as good at Desmond King. They didn't have a LB better than Josey. They had a couple decent DL players, but nothing considerably better than Jaleel.
On offense their OL wasn't better, their RB certainly weren't better, their QB wasn't better, but they did have better WR. When you have one position group that is better than the opponent, you are not more talented than them.

I honestly think a win in Lincoln next year would really waken some of the naive Husker fans. I think in their eyes they might recognize that Iowa is legit. I think a win in Lincoln next year really starts to ramp up the rivalry.
