Yes they did beat a 25 ranked LSU last year. Troy is coming of a 11-2 record.
Lol.Nebraska should just play Iowa State in Omaha. We'll call it the Hawkeye's Bitches Bowl.
Right. But ISU and Nebraska may have trouble doing the same thing, not because either of them are a threat to get to their respective conference's championship game, but because the cancelled opponents might (very well) be involved in theirs.I think ISU and Nebraska will find themselves in the same spot that FSU was in last year.
The FSU Louisiana-Monroe game was canceled do to Hurricane Irma making landfall, FSU at first had no or little intention of rescheduling it. Then they started coming up short in the win column, FSU rescheduled the game to get to bowl eligibility.
This game is a coin toss. Either Nebraska comes out and dominates the trenches and gets up 21 early and crushes Troy or else Troy wins this thing in the 4th quarter. The forecast is perfectly sunny with a high of 88 and 63% humidity. Troy will feel like they are playing in A/C after coming up from 'Bama and Nebraska will be sucking wind in the 4th quarter unless they have imposed their will on Troy for the first three quarters. So unless Nebraska puts this away early, they are going to lose it, IMHO.I'm a Troy grad and I doubt Troy's chances against Nebraska. Even with Nebraska's freshman QB out. Troy was a powerhouse when they were in the lower division, but they have haven't done much since they moved up a division.
ISU is being predictably tight-lipped about it, while publicly saying things like, "We dodged a bullet" and "He is day-to-day." We haven't even gotten confirmation whether it was a knee or ankle.Might not even pick up a win at Akron. It's not a gimme, especially if they are down a QB. Any word on that yet?
Agree. The crazy thing is Nebby is currently an 11.5 point favorite and the over/under is 58. I'd take Troy and the under all day. Troy was not intimidated by LSU last year so I don't see that happening with Nebby either. This game is a coin toss. OMG, I would cream myself if Nebraska scheduled a makeup game and lost!Might not even pick up a win at Akron. It's not a gimme, especially if they are down a QB. Any word on that yet?
Yeah, I don't see Troy being intimidated in this game. I suspect Nebraska is much better than them in the trenches and will end up blowing them out, but now that there is film on the offense my guess is Troy will have a much better game plan than Colorado had on defense so if it stays close, Troy will win it with the weather assist.Agree. Didn't we win 6 in 2007 and then get shafted out of a bowl game? That team was ready for a bowl game the way they handled Western Michigan on Senior Day.Nobody should count on a bowl bid until the 6th win is in the books. Not even Iowa.

I loved hearing the PA announcer change the phrase praising St. Kirk from "6 straight bowl appearances" to "bowl eligible 7 years in a row."

they want to schedule a cupcake. Nebraska v. Iowa State makes so much sense (and would be a great game), but neither team wants to play the other right now. Each team wants a "guaranteed" cupcake win.
Can I subscribe to your newsletter? The Blackshirts folded like a cheap suit in a key TD drive in the 4th quarter and Nebraska's offense looked like it was running in quicksand on the last drive. This game is a coin toss.
