Nebby AD belittles Hawks near end of presser...

I can criticize my team, eff anyone else who does. Delusional fanbase and admin that have calendars that say 1995. They will never win another NC, it's a different era.

Hawkinn3, We share common hatred for nebby, and have to endure the delusion daily.

Maybe a Omaha area Hawkeyenation gathering at a Hawk friendly local bar? All Hawks welcome.

Quote from Eichorst...“But in the final analysis, I had to evaluate where Iowa was.”Moments later, he was asked to clarify that statement.
“As I looked back on the outcomes, I’m trying to look at who are championship-caliber football teams at that moment and how competitive were we in those games?”

Quote from the writer...Eichorst carries himself with more humility (perhaps the No. 1 virtue in the state of Nebraska). But his message Sunday was right out of Pederson’s playbook. The biggest win of Nebraska’s season can’t be Iowa. No. No. No.

As a Hawk fan, I suppose it's your right to get upset when another school's AD disses us. But honestly at this point I really don't care.

If you want to feel butthurt, get angry at the two men who are responsible for your football program being allowed to sink to such a lowly position that another school can take potshots at it -- namely Kirk Ferentz and Gary Barta. Right now, neither man gives a d*mn what you think.

I watched the press conference. Paraphrasing...The AD said they have to consider where Iowa is/was as a program when evaluating the "big picture", concerning the come-back win.

He also referenced schools "paying a lot of money" and not getting wins. No idea if he was referring to Iowa or not. He was addressing a question of the $ for a new coach.

Make no mistake, they don't think Iowa should ever beat them, or that it should ever be close. DELUSION.

Think about it. If you were Nebraska, why would you ever think you should lose to Iowa? How is this any different than an Iowa fan expecting that we never lose to Northwestern? If our program had the history that theirs has, even if it has regressed to where it is since Osborn retired, would you think there was a good reason as to why you would lose to Iowa?

And as far as what they are now and what they should expect, if you were them and you saw what Oklahoma has been doing under Stoops, why would you settle for thinking that you are now what you are and you couldn't be be what the Sooners are?

If the content of this thread accurately describes the dissing of Iowa, this is the most worthless post I have ever seen. It looks to me like he said how they did against Iowa was irrelevant in terms of the decision to make a change. Where is the slam in that? Where is the slam in this anywhere against Iowa? The part about spending a lot of money for questionable results only matters to an Iowa fan if they are delusional enough to think that Nebraska is so concerned with Iowa that they are taking potshots at Iowa when they are talking about why they fired their football coach. Do you honestly think he was talking about Iowa when they were talking about coaching pay versus results? Is the rivalry with Iowa, from their perspective, so great that they are trying to slight Iowa when they are discussing firing their coach? Maybe if it was OU, but Iowa? Come on.

And think about it. You guys on this thread are dogging an AD for doing the same thing you want our AD to do. If every quote any team ever makes is a supposed reference to Iowa, then it can see the hidden message in his comments. Otherwise, like I said, this is a worthless post by the OP of this thread.

The "..at the moment" part is why it isn't a diss. No one would try and claim Iowa is a Championship program last couple of years. If he said that in 2004 or 2009, then it would be something.

context is important...and the context of the remarks isn't well developed in the quotes above.

And even if he was beings a bit disrespectful of Iowa...... big fat hairy deal. Cry me a river, build a bridge and get over it.

I'm sorry, I don't need Nebraska's AD giving us a golden shower while explaining why he fired his coach. I was p*ssed about the game, now I'm p*ssed that KF is allowing our program to be dumped on because he can't win with a 17 point lead in the third quarter. You have a chance to kick the freaking Huskers down the road and you p*ss it down your leg.

Honestly, I don't know how KF shows up any more for his pressers. Geez, we kind of blew it. Geez, we had a poor game plan in the first half. Geez, my offensive coordinator is an idiot.
