NDSU's game plan

You could 'sense' Kittle's frustration on the first play when CJ missed him WIDE OPEN for a 50 yd. gain. Oh, but Kittle didn't pout like a baby and made a bunch of plays..... You folx never cease to crack me up...........

NDSU has played ths same game plan for 10 years now, wash, rinse, repeat.

they didnt game plan for iowa since january, its what NDSU does alot, its the DNA. control clock, move the chains, dominate the trenches and punish teams in 4th quarter

I would bet that the Bison have spent a portion of every practice this year working on the game plan for Iowa. Sure, they had two tough games before the Hawks, but they knew which game was more important nationally. They could use a part of a few practices to game plan for Charleston Southern and Eastern Washington, but they had to believe they would still win or be competitive regardless. They also have a bye coming up this week. This was their Super Bowl, and their preparedness for Iowa showed in the game.

The Hawks, OTOH, looked at it as just another game, and one they should win. Big mistake.

NDSU came in well prepared but I see no signs they did much special preparation for Iowa. They did have extensive game preparations for Eastern Washington and its pass heavy offense the previous week. Everyone is blitzing the A gaps on Iowa's offensive line. NDSU has the perfect tools for it.

LeGrand had a terrible game. He was overmatched and nervous. He was having problems getting the snap to Beathard securely. He was often having problems with the line calls and he wasn't getting his assignments blocked adequately. They have some work to do with LeGrand and I doubt he starts again this year if Daniels stays healthy. Beathard had his hands full trying to secure the ball from center, than having defenders charging up the A gap all afternoon.
