This. No one is happy with the pass game two games in. But I'm willing to let the season play out to see what the overall results are. With the understanding that many are not that patient.I know one thing for sure. We don’t know after the first two games whether this passing game will work.

What result can play out now where you'd be happy exactly? Two games in and we're already destined to another worthless bowl game. There use to be a time when losing to Iowa St. was a bad thing. Apparently not anymore.This. No one is happy with the pass game two games in. But I'm willing to let the season play out to see what the overall results are. Like I said, I am willing to let the season play out. Yes, I said that I wasn't happy with the results so far but I don't think we are destined to see zero improvement for the remainder of the season either. And I don't think two games in our destiny has been determined. What result can play out now where you'd be happy exactly? Two games in and we're already destined to another worthless bowl game. Lester is hamstrung by Ferentz. The entire time he's been here we still have zero idea what his offense would look like. None whatsoever.I was willing to give Lester's NFL passing attack a chance, but after 1 1/6th years and multiple QBs, I'm afraid I'm off the Lester bandwagon when it comes to the pass game.
Newsflash, Poindexter...even if Iowa beats ISU there's ZERO chance Iowa wins the B1G or makes the playoffs. Not sure if you heard or not, but there are 18 teams in the Big Ten now, and they include the #1, 2, 4, 9, 22, and 23rd ranked teams. What result can play out now where you'd be happy exactly? And go into that basketball season expecting a likely losing record. Then you're not disappointed.Yeah let the season play out and get into the basketball season
Might as well enjoy watching our beloved Hawkeyes on the field, hoping for at least a 7-4 record
I'm patient. I've shifted to more of a hoping observer than having actual expectations.This. No one is happy with the pass game two games in. But I'm willing to let the season play out to see what the overall results are. With the understanding that many are not that patient.
Sorry Mr. Positivity, but two games in, and one of those games being a rivalry game that generally comes down to the wire, is far from "being destined to another worthless bowl game". I'm not saying that I'm happy about the ISU loss and agree its a bad thing, but there's 10 games left. I'll agree that the passing games definitely a concern, but come on there's still 10 games left. You've got every right to be upset and disappointed at this point in the season, but with that mentality if I were you I think I'd find another team to support. What result can play out now where you'd be happy exactly? To be totally honest, even if the Hawks beat ISU it's still just a race to see what bowl game you end up at. Looking at the bowl schedule, what's the difference if you go to the "StaffDNA Cure Bowl" or the "Myrtle Beach Bowl?"Sorry Mr. Positivity, but two games in, and one of those games being a rivalry game that generally comes down to the wire, is far from "being destined to another worthless bowl game".
You're right, but there's still mid level bowls that spark interest. I'm just saying he's following the wrong team if he's calling it a season after week 2.To be totally honest, even if the Hawks beat ISU it's still just a race to see what bowl game you end up at. For all but 12 teams in FBS, it pretty much comes down to the old folks crowd wishing and hoping the Hawks get a bowl in a city they want to vacation at like Nashville or Tampa or New Orleans. It's really just a vacation destination thing for a game that doesn't mean anything in terms of the actual football season. It's, "Does Iowa play UCFor Boston College?" Hard to get pumped up or invested in that kind of thing.
For me, I'd never personally spend $3 grand on a vacation based around a football game, and most people wouldn't. That's kind of why I have a hard time getting stoked about football anymore. When you don't have a shot at the conference title or the playoffs, where's the excitement anymore? Do I hope the Hawks go 10-2? Of course. But even if they do they ain't getting in the B1G game and they ain't getting in the playoffs. They'd have to beat Oregon, PSU, Indiana, nebraska, Wisconsin, and a host of others in the same season which ain't happening. It used to be if the Hawks went 10-2 with divisions they had at least a chance of some kind of miracle happening and there was something on the line when you're watching, but not anymore.
