Charlie Baker, NCAA has sent letters to colleges proposing a separate division for the Group of Four.
NCAA - Plan to Pay the Players
Currently there are 59 universities making up the group of 4. Basically if you spend $100M+ you're in that group. There will still be a huge difference between number 59 and number 1 by several million. It is why I believe college football is headed to two conference of 16 teams, each with 2 divisions. Money wise Iowa is probably around 20th financially. I don't think Iowa would be competitive long term in a 32 team minor league or do I think the Board of Regents would want to be part of it.
