Just want to make sure I understand this. There are 4 play in games this year. The winners of those 4 play in games determine the 4 16 seeds in the tournament. Is that correct?

Almost. 2 of them are 16 seed placements, and 2 of them are the last 4 selected to the tournament. I believe last year one game was a 12.
So basically they make the last four in play in a pig tail to even get in the dance? That's kinda ****ed up. How is that going to work for brackets. Are people going to have to pick the play in games also? I mean every year it seems a 12 knocks of a 5, but now we won't know who the 12's are until the day before the tournament.
I'm all for expanding the tournament, but do it in a way that doesn't **** with the brackets.... or maybe thats what the NCAA wanted to do... Regardless I think it's bull ****.
This "play in" garbage is just about the dumbest thing ever.
It happened last year. We skipped the first 4
I guess I get it for the 16 seeds, but for the 12 seeds? Why the **** to the 12's have to play one more game than 2 of the 16 seeds, and all of the 15-13's?
If you want play in games fine, but have them all for the 16 seeds and start letting mid majors who go 25-4 in one bid leagues but get upset in their conference title games into the NCAA tournament outright.
That's probably what we did also, but it sure makes it hard to pick that 12-5 round when you don't even know who the **** the 12 will be.
