Name your starting 5 and rotation

Everyone's turn to play coach. Here's how I'd play it:

JBo 30 min / BE 10 min
Jok 30 min / Moss 5 min / BE 5 min
Moss 20 min / Baer 10 min / Jones 10 min
Baer 20 min / Wagner 20 min
Cook 20 min / Pemsl 20 min

That's an 8/9 man rotation.
Jok: 30 min
Baer: 30 min
JBo: 30 min (more out of necessity)
Moss: 25 min

That's getting our best players and most importantly our better defensive players (Moss & Baer) more PT.

Kreiner would be competing to take away Pemsl's minutes which is possible because he's a little better post defender, plus his shooting ability pairs a little better with Wagner. Uhl could compete with Jones & Wagner for minutes, but IMO if he isn't making 3s he doesn't deserve to play. It's speculation but I like Jones's ability to shoot the 3 and rebound.

What say you?

Jok and Moss at the 2 and 3 are the easiest picks. Bohannon is an easy pick at the 1 by default. Baer at the 4 would be great given everything that he brings to the table. I would like to see Wagner or Pemsl at the 5 until Cook improves his defense. Then bring Cook, Wagner or Pemsl, Jones and Ellingson off the bench. Williams just can't be trusted with the ball in his hands. Kriener isn't fast or athletic enough to play over the other guys.

I think we are pretty much on the same wavelength. I thought about bringing Cook off the bench too. Kreiner, Uhl, Williams are the odd men out.

I'd start Baer over Moss. Baer could help with defense and get us off to better starts. Give the majority of bench minutes to Moss, Wagner, Uhl, and Ellingson. I'd like to see a combo of Ellingson and Jok take over backup PG. Jok was forced to bring the ball up the floor a lot against Purdue and I think he did a good job getting us into the offense. The rest of the crew gets spot minutes depending on need. I'd continue to give CW time but only as a wing. The pressure of PG may be too much for him but he obviously has shown flashes he can be a quality player.

Bohannon 30 mins/ Dailey 10 mins
Jok 35 mins/ Ellingsen 5 mins
Baer 20 mins/ Moss 20 mins
Cook 15 mins/Wagner 15 mins/ Uhl 10 mins
Kreiner 20 mins/Pemsl 20 mins

I think rotation is too big. Hard to get into the flow off the game. Figure out who your best 9 guys are and let them play most of the game.

Unless they take advantage of their depth and press most of the game, or for matchup reasons they go big or small.
The team has a ton of interchangeable guys that bring slightly different skill sets to team (Jok special shooter should pay 35 min a game).

My guys would be:
Jok -35
Jobo- 25-30
Moss - 25
Baer-25
Cook-20-25
Pemsil 20-25
Ellington- 5 min. Heat check
Kriener -20-25
Uhl or Christian 15

JBo
Jok
Moss
Baer
Kriener

Wagner and Cook and a Ellingson come in for Moss, Baer and Kriener.

I like Baer playing shorter bursts because he plays so hard. Moss can come back in to spell Jok and Christian Williams can play 5-10 min per game only because JBo will need a rest.

The odd man I have l left out is Pemsl. I love his toughness but he's an undersized 4.

You're not even going to play Pemsl? He's been very good this year

I agree, we really need to get the rotation down to 9. I don't understand why Fran feels the need to play everyone

Pemsl was awesome early in the year but I think teams have figured him out and I think his overall game is a bit limited and he's undersized.

I went with Kriener over Pemsl because he's a better shooter and a bigger body. I think his potential is much higher than Pemsl for those 2 reasons.

Pemsl is 2 lbs heavier than Kriener

Kriener is taller... I guess I thought he was 6"10 but he's only listed at 6'9" and Pemsl is listed at 6'8" so not as much difference as I thought.

I would still stick with Kriener. I think he and Jok can run some good 2 man sets with his ability to hit the mid range jump shots where Pemsl can't.

To be honest, there's not much difference between the 2 at this point. I just prefer Kriener because I think he has more long term potential.

Pemsl is third on the team in scoring and leads the team in FG%

True but his production has slowed a bit as of late. Kriener has a much smaller sample size in playing time, I just like that he can stretch the floor much more than Pemsl.

Okay, well I doubt it will happen but I think we should shut Pete down indefinitely. Here's my lineup and rotation.

JBo 20 min / CW 10 min/ BE 10 min
Moss 20 min / JBo 10 min / BE 10 min
Baer 30 min / Moss 10 min
Wagner 25 min / Cook 15 min
Kreiner 20 min / Pemsl 15 min / Cook 5 min

Baer shouldn't come off the floor except for a breather. Best overall player outside of a healthy Jok(when Jok tries on defense).
