If he truly is a diehard Hawk fan then getting a scholarship from Iowa should suffice. If he's ticked because he didn't get the offer before anyone else offered........well that kind of puzzles me. Go off to another college just because he didn't get offered first. If he does go somewhere else I think he'll regret it.Ratings are an odd thing. My eye balls told me this kid was a div 1 player. Had Iowa offered sooner..Oliver may have committed and been a 2 star player because he's from Iowa. Now that he has dominated at these national camps,he's now likely a 4 star because Michigan wants him. I really don't understand why it took so long to offer him. Coach Doyle's son played at WEST also and he saw him and should have known his work ethic. It won't make or break this recruiting class but it would suck to lose a talented player from our backyard at a position that we really struggle to recruit at.
Your are a 'talent scout'? A football coach? Tell us all about all the other kids your eyeballs told you were D1 players! Lol, you're funny....Ratings are an odd thing. http://hawkeyenation.com/forum/index.php?threads/hawkeyes-offer-oliver-martin.75149/#post-1514047Show us where you posted that your eyeballs told you Oliver (as you refer to him, you guys must be close) was a D1 player BEFORE he was ever given any D1 offers.....
Tim Dwight...but that one was pretty easyYour are a 'talent scout'? A football coach? Tell us all about all the other kids your eyeballs told you were D1 players! Lol, you're funny....
Are you 'challenged'? He made this post AFTER he had 5 offers and AFTER Iowa offered? Nice try though........Advantage BILLBUCKNER.
So when you were watching Tim Dwight, you didn't notice any of the D1 talent he was playing and didn't tell everyone??? So you haven't seen a game in the last 20 some years that your 'eyeballs' told you were D1 talent? You're even funnier now....I've seen and 'called' dozens dozens of Iowa D1 talent in the last 20-30 years, but like I said in your 'reference' thread, Martin didn't play like it in the 3 games I saw (and obviously college recruiters noticed the same thing)...I'm glad he's 'exploded' and improved (in shorts and a t-shirt and no pads, lol) and I hope he does really well, but don't embarrass yourself acting like you can evaluate talent, lol..........Tim Dwight...but that one was pretty easy..I got to see a few of his games. I have never seen anyone like him in person at the HS level that did what he did.
What the hell is your problem? Why are you such a dick? Its posters like you that criticize and nitpik others for what they share that make them not want to post. I shared my opinion. The reason I posted about Martin is I have seen him play for the last 3 seasons. He is a very gifted athlete. I hope he goes were he will be happiest. If he was my son I selfishly would want him to go to Iowa where he could have the opportunity to play for a great coaching staff and achieve his athletics dreams. But if he wants to go to Michigan I wouldn't blame him because of dicks like you. All you have done is post drivel critizing him because you saw 3 games 'were he did nothing'. My opinion was validated because he can go where ever he chooses now.So when you were watching Tim Dwight, you didn't notice any of the D1 talent he was playing and didn't tell everyone??? I think he stays home and follows his dream of being a hawkeye. I certainly don't visualize him going to another Big Ten team who he would have dispised growing up. He could consider going to a school on the West coast but that could present a challenge for his family to see him play on a regular basis. Stay at Iowa and family and friends get to watch you on a regular basis fullfil your childhood dream. Oliver will enjoy the attention and take advantage of seeing a few campuses before happily signing with the he HAWKS.
He can go wherever he chooses now? Can he go to USC, OSU or Alabama? Lol. I wasn't criticizing him, I was explaining why he might not have recieved offers right away. You were criticizing the staff for not offering 'earlier' when you are in no position to criticize or evaluate, but try to pretend you are. If you're going to question or criticize, expect to be scrutinized. Pretty simple really.
