I only started watching when I was 10 years old (2000), so I didn't see many of the great one play.

#1 Chris Street (family friend, and I have seen him play some on video tapes)
#2 Jarryd Cole (a Street clone in terms of effort and determination)
#3 Greg Brunner
#4 Adam Haluska
#5 Dean Oliver

:eek:Whaaaaaat???
A guy who never quit or transferred after everyone else did?
Who never gave up on his coach, even TL?
Who never gave up being a Hawkeye even after all the other recruits in his class never did?
Who had a smile on his face even when we were in last place?
Who always thought we would win the next game?
Who didn't give up after tearing his ACL as a freshman?
Who gave it his all as a 6'7" post in a land of 6'10" players?
Who face his final game as a senior vs the #6 team in the country and said screw you I'll have my best game ever?
Are you freakin' kidding me??
Not top 50?
What 50 players do you like better than Jarryd Cole?
Can you even name 50 Hawkeye players?
Are you a Cyclone?

We're not talking about the 5 best players, though. This is for your favorite Hawkeyes. There can be a big difference between the two.

My bad. It should have said My Fav Five then

Here are my Fav5

1. Roy Marble
2. Gerry Wright
3. Chris Kingsbury
4. Bobby Hansen
5. Steve Carfino

Honorable Mention:
Jeff Moe
Chris Street
Russ Millard
BJ Armstrong
Paul Lusk
Michael Payne / Greg Stokes

Maybe I should elaborate on "Fab Five." I mean my favorite five. Not necessarily the best five.
Thanks Tm3308.

Oh Gerry Wright was awesome!!! Thanks for the memories!

Ronnie Lester
Dean Oliver
Acie Earl
Adam Haluska
Greg Brunner
Jess Settles
Andre Woolridge
Jared Reiner
Kenyon Murray
Ryan Bowen
James Winters
Jarryd Cole

That put him #24 on my list. I may be forgetting some players during the Lute/Raveling Era and I excluded anyone prior to that because I wasn't old enough to watch them play.

James Winters reminds me of Jarryd Cole. Hmmmm......

Appreciate all that Cole did for Iowa and that he stuck with the Hawks.. No disrespect intended but Cole wouldn't even be in my Top 15 all-time favorites Hawkeyes..

None of those things really mean that he was a good player. I mean they kind of do but not really.

Same here - there are just so many great Hawkeyes or players that I loved watching over the years. That said, Jarryd Cole is a true Hawkeye through and through, and I appreciate deeply his commitment and hard work over the past four years.

Mine, in no real order:
BJ Armstrong
Roy Marble
Andre Woolridge
Jess Settles
Chris Street

A few others that come to mind:
Chris Kingsbury
Acie Earl
Ed Horton
Jeff Moe
