Must pressure Cousins

Was watching MSU against NU last week. Cousins is a mess with pressure in his face. Accordingly, it would seem the best way to stop MSU's passing game is to do it on their side of the line of scrimmage.

Instead of dropping 7 in pass coverage bring 5 on the rush.

You're right. But the truth is, NO QB is very good under a strong rush. That's why I said in another post that our pass defense looks worse than it is because we almost NEVER put any serious pressure on the QB. And I also said if our LB's can't cover, that's just one more GOOD reason to rush 5 and blitz and, as you say, play pass defense in the MSU backfield. I say go for it, Hawks. Let's see how many sacks Iowa can rack up on Saturday.
